ତୁମ୍ଭମାନେେ ନିଜେ ମାରେ କହିବା ଶୁଣିଛ ଯେ 'ମୁଁ ଖ୍ରୀଷ୍ଟ ନୁହେଁ। ତାହାଙ୍କ ପାଇଁ ପଥ ତିଆରି କରିବା ଉଦ୍ଦେଶ୍ଯ ରେ ଈଶ୍ବର ମାେତେ ପଠାଇଛନ୍ତି।'

ଯୋହନ ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କୁ ତାହାଙ୍କ ବିଷୟ ରେ କହିଲେ। ସେ କହିଲେ, ମୁଁ ଯାହାଙ୍କ ବିଷୟ ରେ କହୁଥିଲି, ସେ ଏହି। ମୁଁ କହିଲି, 'ମାେ ପରେ ୟିଏ ଆସୁଛନ୍ତି, ସେ ମାେ ଠାରୁ ବହୁତ ଶ୍ ରେଷ୍ଠ। ସେ ମାେ ପୂର୍ବରୁ ବାସ କରୁଥିଲେ।'
