ଯେତବେେଳେ ମୁଁ ଜ୍ଞାନର ତତ୍ତ୍ବ ଜାଣିବାକୁ ଓ ପୃଥିବୀ ରେ ଘଟୁଥିବା କାର୍ୟ୍ଯ ଦେଖିବାକୁ ମନୋୟୋଗ କଲି। ଏଇ ଦିନ ରେ ମୁଁ ନ ଶାଇେ ଦିନରାତି କାମ କଲି।

ଯଦି କୌଣସି ଲୋକ ଏକାକି ଥାଏ ଓ ତାହାର ଦ୍ବିତୀୟ କହେି ନାହିଁ, ତା'ର ପୁତ୍ର ଏବଂ ଭ୍ରାତା କହେି ନାହିଁ। ତଥାପି ତାହାର ପରିଶ୍ରମର ସୀମା ନାହିଁ, ତା'ର ଚକ୍ଷୁ କିଅବା ତା'ର ଧନ ରେ ତୃପ୍ତ ନୁହେଁ। କିନ୍ତୁ ସେ ନିଜକୁ ପଚା ରେ ନାହିଁ ଯେ, କାହିଁକି ମୁଁ ଏତେ କଠିନ କାର୍ୟ୍ଯ କରୁଛି ? କାହିଁକି ମୁଁ ମାରେ ଜୀବନକୁ ଉପ ଭୋଗ କରିବି ନାହିଁ ? ଏହା ମଧ୍ଯ ଅସାର ଓ ଅତ୍ଯନ୍ତ କ୍ଲେଶ ଜନକ।

ଶ୍ରମଜିବୀ ଲୋକେ ଅଳ୍ପ ବା ବହୁତ ଖାଇଲେ ହେଁ ତାହାର ନିଦ୍ରା ସୁଖକର ହୁଏ, ମାତ୍ର ଧନବାନର ପୂର୍ଣ୍ଣତା ତାହାକୁ ନିଦ୍ରା ୟିବାକୁ ଦବେ ନାହିଁ।

ଏବଂ ସେ ଜାଣେ ନାହିଁ କ'ଣ ଘଟିବାକୁ ଯାଉଛି। କାରଣ କହେି କହି ପାରିବେ ନାହିଁ ଭବିଷ୍ଯତ ରେ କ'ଣ ହବେ।

ମୁଁ ଏହିସବୁ ଦେଖିଛି ଯାହା ସୂର୍ୟ୍ଯ ତଳେ କରାୟାଏ, ଏବଂ ମୁଁ ଏ ବିଷଯ ରେ ଗଭୀର ଭାବରେ ଚିନ୍ତା କରିଛି। କବେେ କବେେ ଏକ ମନୁଷ୍ଯର ଅନ୍ୟ ଉପ ରେ ତାହାର କ୍ଷତି କରିବା ନିମନ୍ତେ କ୍ଷମତା ଥାଏ।
