ଏଣୁକରି ଦୟାକରି ଏହା ଶୁଣ, ହେ ୟିରୁଶାଲମ, ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଦ୍ରାକ୍ଷାରସର କୁହୁକରେ ମତ୍ତ ନୁହଁ, କିନ୍ତୁ ତୁମ୍ଭେ ମତ୍ତୁଆଲା ଅଟ।

ହେ ୟିରୁଶାଲମ, ଉଠ, ଜାଗ, ଛିଡ଼ାହୁଅ, କାରଣ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ତୁମ୍ଭ ଉପ ରେ କୋପ କରିଛନ୍ତି। ତେଣୁ ସେ ତୁମ୍ଭକୁ ଦଣ୍ଡ ଦଇେଛନ୍ତି। ସେ ଦଣ୍ଡ ଏକ ମଦପାତ୍ର ସଦୃଶ ଓ ତୁମ୍ଭେ ତାହା ପାନ କରିଛି। ତୁମ୍ଭେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ହସ୍ତରୁ କୋପରୂପ ପାନପାତ୍ର ନଇେ ତାହାକୁ ଶଷେ କରିଅଛ।

ହେ ଦୁଃଖିନୀ, ତାଫୋନ ବିଧ୍ବସ୍ତ ଓ ସାନ୍ତ୍ବନା ବିରହିତ ନଗରୀ ! ଦେଖ, ଆମ୍ଭେ ନାନା ସୁନ୍ଦର ବର୍ଣ୍ଣ ରେ ତୁମ୍ଭର ପ୍ରସ୍ତର ବସାଇବା ଓ ନୀଳମଣିଦ୍ବାରା ତୁମ୍ଭର ଭିତ୍ତିମୂଳ ସ୍ଥାପନ କରିବା।
