ବାଳକର ଜନ୍ମ ହବୋର ଅଷ୍ଟମ ଦିନ ସମାନେେ ଶିଶୁକୁ ସୁନ୍ନତ କରବାକୁ ଆସିଲେ ଓ ସମାନେେ ବାଳକର ନାମ ତାର ପିତାଙ୍କ ନାମ ଅନୁସାରେ ଜିଖରିୟ ଦବୋକୁ ଗ୍ଭହୁଁଥିଲେ।

ମାରେ ଜନ୍ମ ହବୋର ଆଠ ଦିନପରେ, ମାରେସୁନ୍ନତ କରାଯାଇଥିଲା। ମୁଁ ଜଣେ ଇଶ୍ରାୟେଲୀୟ ଲୋକ। ମୁଁ ବିନ୍ଯାମିନଙ୍କ ବଂଶଧର। ଏବ୍ରୀୟ ପିତାମାତାଙ୍କଠାରୁ ଜନ୍ମିଥିବାରୁ ମୁଁ ଜଣେ ଏବ୍ରୀୟ ଅଟେ। ମାେ ପାଇଁ ମାଶାଙ୍କେ ବ୍ଯବସ୍ଥା ଆଜି ଗୁରୁତ୍ବପୂର୍ଣ୍ଣ, ସେ ଦୃଷ୍ଟିରୁ ମୁଁ ଜଣେ ଫାରୁଶୀ।

ଏହିପରି ପରମେଶ୍ବର ଅବ୍ରହାମଙ୍କୁ ଏହି ଚୁକ୍ତି ପାଇଁ ସୁନ୍ନତର ଚ଼ିହ୍ନ ପ୍ରଦାନ କଲେ। ସେ ୟିସ୍ହାକଙ୍କର ପିତା ହେଲେ। ୟିସ୍ହାକଙ୍କ ଜନ୍ମର ଅଷ୍ଟମଦିନ ଅବ୍ରାହାମ ତାହାଙ୍କର ସୁନ୍ନତ କଲେ ଓ ୟିସ୍ହାକ ତାହାଙ୍କର ପୁତ୍ର ଯାକୁବର ସୁନ୍ନତ କଲେ। ପୁଣି ଯାକୁବ ତାହାଙ୍କ ବାରଜଣ ପୁତ୍ରଙ୍କର ସୁନ୍ନତ କଲେ, ଏହି ପୁତ୍ରମାନେ ଆମ୍ଭ ଗୋଷ୍ଠୀଗୁଡ଼ିକର ପିତା ହେଲେ।
