ଯିରିମିୟ 45

1 ଯୋଶିୟଯର ପୁତ୍ର ଯିହୁଦାର ରାଜା ଯିହାୟୋକୀମର ରାଜତ୍ବର ଚତୁର୍ଥ ବର୍ଷ ରେ ନରେିଯର ପୁତ୍ର ବାରୂକ, ଯିରିମିୟଙ୍କ ମୁଖରୁ ଏହି ସମସ୍ତ କଥା ଶୁଣି ନଳାକାର ପୁସ୍ତକରେ ଲେଖିଲା ବେଳେ ଯିରିମିୟ ଭବିଷ୍ଯଦବକ୍ତା ତାକୁ ଏହି କଥା କହିଲେ।

2 ହେ ବ୍ଯାକୁଳ, ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ଇଶ୍ରାୟେଲର ପରମେଶ୍ବର ତୁମ୍ଭକୁ ଏହି କଥା କହିନ୍ତି।

3 ' ହେ ବାରୂକ, ତୁମ୍ଭେ ମାେ ହାୟ, ହାୟ କହିଲ, କାରଣ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ମାରେ ୟନ୍ତ୍ରଣା ରେ ଦୁଃଖ ଯୋଡ଼ି ଦେଲେ। ମୁଁ କଥା କହିବାକୁ କ୍ଲାନ୍ତ ହେଉଅଛି ଓ ୟନ୍ତ୍ରଣା ରେ ଥରୁଅଛି, ଯେ ହତେୁ ମାରେ କିଛି ବିଶ୍ରାମ ନାହିଁ।'

4 ତେଣୁ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ କହିଲେ, ହେ ଯିରିମିୟ, ତୁମ୍ଭେ ବାରୂକକୁ ଏହି କଥା କୁହ, 'ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ କହନ୍ତି, ଦେଖ, ଆମ୍ଭେ ଯାହା ନିର୍ମାଣ କରିଅଛୁ, ତାହା ଭାଙ୍ଗି ପକାଇବୁ ଓ ଯାହା ରୋପଣ କରିଅଛୁ ତାହା ଉତ୍ପାଟନ କରିବୁ। ଆଉ ସମୁଦାଯ ଯିହୁଦା ରେ ଏହା କରିବୁ।

5 ହେ ବାରୂକ, ତୁମ୍ଭେ ନିଜ ପାଇଁ ମହାନ୍ ବିଷଯ ଖୋଜୁଅଛ। କିନ୍ତୁ ତାହା ଚେଷ୍ଟା କର ନାହିଁ।' କାରଣ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ କହନ୍ତି, ' ଦେଖ, ଆମ୍ଭେ ସମଗ୍ର ପ୍ରାଣୀ ଉପ ରେ ଅମଙ୍ଗଳ ଘଟାଇବା। ମାତ୍ର ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଯେଉଁ ଯେଉଁ ସ୍ଥାନକୁ ୟିବ ଆମ୍ଭେ ସେସବୁ ସ୍ଥାନ ରେ ତୁମ୍ଭର ପ୍ରାଣ ରକ୍ଷା କରିବା।'

1 The word that Jeremiah the prophet spake unto Baruch the son of Neriah, when he had written these words in a book at the mouth of Jeremiah, in the fourth year of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah king of Judah, saying,

2 Thus saith the Lord, the God of Israel, unto thee, O Baruch;

3 Thou didst say, Woe is me now! for the Lord hath added grief to my sorrow; I fainted in my sighing, and I find no rest.

4 Thus shalt thou say unto him, The Lord saith thus; Behold, that which I have built will I break down, and that which I have planted I will pluck up, even this whole land.

5 And seekest thou great things for thyself? seek them not: for, behold, I will bring evil upon all flesh, saith the Lord: but thy life will I give unto thee for a prey in all places whither thou goest.
