ଇଶ୍ମାଯଲରେ ଆଯୁ 137 ବର୍ଷ ବଞ୍ଚିଲେ। ଏହାପରେ ସେ ପ୍ରାଣ ତ୍ଯାଗ କଲେ। ସେ ତାଙ୍କ ପୂର୍ବପୁରୁଷଙ୍କ ସହିତ କବର ପ୍ରାପ୍ତ ହେଲେ।

| Ishmael, of | יִשְׁמָעֵ֔אל | yišmāʿēl | yeesh-ma-ALE |
| an hundred | מְאַ֥ת | mĕʾat | meh-AT |
| שָׁנָ֛ה | šānâ | sha-NA | |
| and thirty | וּשְׁלֹשִׁ֥ים | ûšĕlōšîm | oo-sheh-loh-SHEEM |
| שָׁנָ֖ה | šānâ | sha-NA | |
| seven and | וְשֶׁ֣בַע | wĕšebaʿ | veh-SHEH-va |
| years: | שָׁנִ֑ים | šānîm | sha-NEEM |
| and he gave up the ghost | וַיִּגְוַ֣ע | wayyigwaʿ | va-yeeɡ-VA |
| died; and | וַיָּ֔מָת | wayyāmot | va-YA-mote |
| and was gathered | וַיֵּאָ֖סֶף | wayyēʾāsep | va-yay-AH-sef |
| unto | אֶל | ʾel | el |
