ରାଜା ଦାଉଦ ତାଙ୍କର ସନୋପତି ଯୋୟାବକକ୍ସ୍ଟ ଡାକି କହିଲେ, ତୁମ୍ଭମାନେେ ଦାନଠାରକ୍ସ୍ଟ ବରେଶବୋ ପର୍ୟ୍ଯନ୍ତ ଇଶ୍ରାୟେଲର ସମସ୍ତ ବଂଶ ଦଇେ ଭ୍ରମଣ କରି ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କୁ ଗଣନା କର। ତାହା ହେଲେ ମୁ ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କର ସଂଖ୍ଯା ଜାଣି ପାରିବି।

ଏଣୁ ଇଶ୍ରାୟେଲର ସମସ୍ତ ଲୋକ ଏକତ୍ରୀତ ହେଲେ। ସମାନେେ ସମସ୍ତେ ମିସ୍ପୀ ରେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କଠା ରେ ଏକତ୍ରୀତ ହେଲେ। ଇଶ୍ରାୟେଲୀୟମାନେ ଦାନଠାରକ୍ସ୍ଟ ବରେଶବୋ ପର୍ୟ୍ଯନ୍ତ ଓ ଗିଲିଯଦଠାରକ୍ସ୍ଟ ମଧ୍ଯ ଆସିଲେ।

ମାେତେ ଦିଆଯାଇଥିବା ଆଶ୍ଚର୍ୟ୍ଯଜନକ ପ୍ରତ୍ଯାଦେଶଗୁଡ଼ିକ ପାଇଁ କାଳେ ମୁଁ ଅତ୍ଯଧିକ ଗର୍ବ କରିବି, ସେଥିପାଇଁ ମାେତେ ଶରୀର ରେ ୟନ୍ତ୍ରଣାଦାୟକ ଏକ କଣ୍ଟକ ଦିଆ ହେଲା। ଶୟତାନର ଦୂତ ସ୍ବରୂପେ ଏହା ମାେତେ ଦିଆଯାଇଛି ଓ ମୁଁ ଯେପରିକି ଅଧିକ ଗର୍ବ ନ କରେ। ମାେତେ ମାଡ଼ ମାରିବା ପାଇଁ ସେଥିପାଇଁ ତାହାକୁ ପଠାଯାଇଛି।

କିନ୍ତୁ ହିଜକିଯଙ୍କ ହୃଦଯ ଗର୍ବୀ ଥିଲା, ତେଣୁ ସେ ପରମେଶ୍ବରଙ୍କ ମହାଦୟା ପାଇଁ ପରମେଶ୍ବରଙ୍କୁ ଧନ୍ଯବାଦ ଦେଲେ ନାହିଁ। ଏଥି ନିମନ୍ତେ ପରମେଶ୍ବର ହିଜକିଯ ଓ ଯିହୁଦା ଏବଂ ୟିରୁଶାଲମର ଲୋକଙ୍କ ପ୍ରତି କୋର୍ଧ କଲେ।

ତେଣୁ ଦାଉଦ ଯୋୟାବ ଓ ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କର ନେତାମାନଙ୍କୁ କହିଲେ, ୟାଅ, ଓ ଇଶ୍ରାୟେଲର ସମସ୍ତ ଲୋକଙ୍କୁ ଗଣନା କର। ବରେଶବୋ ସହରଠାରୁ ଦାନ ସହର ପର୍ୟ୍ଯନ୍ତ ଦେଶ ରେ ଥିବା ପ୍ରେତ୍ୟକକ ଜଣକୁ ଗଣନା କର। ଏହାପରେ ଆସି ମାେତେ ସତ୍ଯ କୁହ, ତବେେ ଦେଶର ଲୋକସଂଖ୍ଯା କେତେ, ତାହା ମୁଁ ଜାଣିପାରିବି।

ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ଗୋବତ୍ସ, ମଷେ, ଛଳେିଙ୍କର ସଂଖ୍ଯା ବିର୍ଦ୍ଧିଷ୍ତୁ ହବେ। ତୁମ୍ଭେ ପ୍ରଚକ୍ସ୍ଟର ପରିମାଣର ସକ୍ସ୍ଟନା ରୂପା ପାଇବ। ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କର ଯାହାସବୁ ଅଛି ତାହା ବୃଦ୍ଧି ପାଇବ।
