ଦାଉଦ ଓ ଇଶ୍ରାୟେଲର ସମସ୍ତ ଲୋକ ୟିରୁଶାଲମକୁ ଗଲେ। ସହେି ସମୟରେ ୟିରୁଶାଲମକୁ ୟିବୂଷ ବୋଲି କୁହାଯାଉଥିଲା। ସହେି ନଗର ରେ ବାସ କରୁଥିବା ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କୁ ୟିବୂଷୀଯ ନାମ ରେ ନାମିତ କରାୟାଇଥିଲା।

ସହେି ସୀମା ହିନ୍ନୋମ ଉପତ୍ୟକା ଦଇେ ଉଠି ଦକ୍ଷିଣ ଦିଗ ରେ ୟିବୂଷ ନଗର ଆଡକକ୍ସ୍ଟ ଗଲା, ଏହାକକ୍ସ୍ଟ ୟିରକ୍ସ୍ଟଶାଲମ କହନ୍ତି। ଏହିପରି ସହେି ସୀମା ପଶ୍ଚିମ ରେ ହିନ୍ନୋମ ଉପତ୍ୟକା ପର୍ୟ୍ଯନ୍ତ ଗଲା। ଏହା ରଫାଯିମ ଉପତ୍ୟକାର ଉତ୍ତର ପ୍ରାନ୍ତସ୍ଥିତ ପର୍ୟ୍ଯନ୍ତ ଥିଲା।

ୟିବୂଷ ରେ ବାସ କରୁଥିବା ଲୋକମାନେ ଦାଉଦଙ୍କୁ କହିଲେ, ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ନଗର ମଧିଅରେ ପ୍ରବେଶ କରିପାରିବ ନାହିଁ। କିନ୍ତୁ ଦାଉଦ ସମାନଙ୍କେୁ ପରାସ୍ତ କରି ଦେଲେ। ଦାଉଦ ସିୟୋନ ଦୁର୍ଗକୁ ଅଧିକାର କରି ନେଲେ। ଯାହା ଦାଉଦଙ୍କ ନଗର ନାମ ରେ ଜଣାଗଲା।

ଏହାପରେ ରାଜା ଓ ତାଙ୍କର ଲୋକମାନେ ୟିରକ୍ସ୍ଟଶାଲମ ରେ ବାସ କରୁଥିବା ୟିବୂଷୀଯମାନଙ୍କ ବିରକ୍ସ୍ଟଦ୍ଧ ରେ ୟକ୍ସ୍ଟଦ୍ଧ କରିବାକୁ ଗଲେ। ଏହି ୟିବୂଷୀଯମାନେ ଦାଉଦଙ୍କକ୍ସ୍ଟ କହିଲେ, ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଏହି ସ୍ଥାନକକ୍ସ୍ଟ ଆସି ପାରିବ ନାହିଁ। ଏପରିକି ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କର ଅନ୍ଧ ଓ ଅର୍ଥବ ଲୋକମାନେ ତୁମ୍ଭକୁ ଅଟକାଇ ପାରିବେ। ସମାନେେ ଏହି ଚିନ୍ତାଧାରା ପ୍ରକାଶ କଲେ ଯେ, ସମାନଙ୍କେର ନଗର ରେ ପ୍ରବେଶ କରିବା ପାଇଁ ଦାଉଦ ଅକ୍ଷମ ହବେେ।

କିନ୍ତୁ ଲବେୀୟ ଲୋକଜଣଙ୍କକ୍ସ୍ଟ ଆଉ ଏକ ରାତ୍ରି ରହିବା ପାଇଁ ଭଲ ଲାଗକ୍ସ୍ଟ ନଥିଲା। ତେଣୁ ସେ ପ୍ରସ୍ତକ୍ସ୍ଟତ ହେଲା ଏବଂ ତା'ର ଉପପତ୍ନୀ ଓ ଗଧ ଦକ୍ସ୍ଟଇଟିକକ୍ସ୍ଟ ଧରି ଗ୍ଭଲିଗଲା, ସେ ୟିବୂଷ ପର୍ୟ୍ଯନ୍ତ ୟାତ୍ରା କଲେ।

ସେଲା, ଏଲଫ୍ ୟିବୂଷ ଗିବିଯା ଓ କିରିଯଥ ଗ୍ରାମ ସମତେ, ଏହିପରି ଭାବରେ ଚଉଦଟି ନଗର ଥିଲା। ନିଜ ନିଜ ବଂଶ ଅନକ୍ସ୍ଟସା ରେ ବିଦ୍ଯାମୀନ ସନ୍ତାନଗଣମାନଙ୍କର ଏହିପରି ଅଧିକାର ଥିଲା।
