କାରଣ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ସମାନଙ୍କେ ବିଷଯ ରେ କହିଥିଲେ ଯେ, ସମାନେେ ଅବଶ୍ଯ ଏହି ମରୁଭୂମିରେ ମରିବେ। କବଳେ ସମାନଙ୍କେ ମଧ୍ଯରୁ ୟିଫୁନ୍ନିର ପୁତ୍ର କାଲେବ୍ ଓ ନୂନର ପୁତ୍ର ଯିହାଶୂେୟ ବଞ୍ଚି ରହିଲେ, ବାକି ସମସ୍ତେ ମଲେ।

ଦିନେ ୟିହକ୍ସ୍ଟଦା ପରିବାରବର୍ଗଠାରକ୍ସ୍ଟ କିଛି ଲୋକ ଗିଲ୍ଗଲ୍ ରେ ଥିବା ଯିହାଶୂେୟଙ୍କ ନିକଟକକ୍ସ୍ଟ ଗଲେ। ସହେି ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କ ମଧିଅରେ ଜଣେ ଲୋକ ଥିଲେ। ତାଙ୍କର ନାମ ଥିଲା କାଲେବ୍, ଯେ କି କନିସୀଯ ୟିଫକ୍ସ୍ଟନ୍ନିର ପକ୍ସ୍ଟତ୍ର ଥିଲା। କାଲେବ୍ ଯିହାଶୂେୟଙ୍କକ୍ସ୍ଟ କହିଲେ, ତୁମ୍ଭର ମନେଥିବ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ପରମେଶ୍ବର କାଦେଶ ବର୍ଣ୍ଣଯେ ରେ ଯାହା କହିଥିଲେ। ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ତାଙ୍କର ସବେକ ମାଶାଙ୍କେକ୍ସ୍ଟ କହିଥିଲେ ଯାହା ତକ୍ସ୍ଟମ୍ଭ ବିଷଯ ରେ ଓ ମାେ ବିଷଯ।

ସମାନଙ୍କେ ପୂର୍ବପୁରୁଷମାନଙ୍କ ପ୍ରତି ଆମ୍ଭେ ଯେଉଁ ଦେଶ ବିଷଯ ରେ ଶପଥ କରିଅଛୁ, ଏମାନଙ୍କ ମଧ୍ଯରୁ କହେି ସେ ଦେଶ ଦେଖିପାରିବେ ନାହିଁ। କାରଣ ସମାନେେ ମତେ ଅବଜ୍ଞା କରିଛନ୍ତି, ତେଣୁ ସମାନଙ୍କେ ମଧ୍ଯରୁ କହେି ତାହା ଦେଖିବେ ନାହିଁ।
