ଯୀଶୁ ଓ ତାହାଙ୍କ ଶିଷ୍ଯମାନେ ୟିରୁଶାଲମର ନିକଟବର୍ତ୍ତୀ ହେଲେ। ସମାନେେ ଜୀତ ପର୍ବତ ପାଖ ବେଥ୍ଫାଗୀ ଓ ବେଥନିଆ ସହର ରେ ପହନ୍ଚିଲେ। ଯୀଶୁ ନିଜ ଶିଷ୍ଯମାନଙ୍କ ଭିତରୁ ଦୁଇ ଜଣକୁ ଏହା କହି ପଠାଇଲେ,

ପରେ ଯେତବେେଳେ ଯୀଶୁ ଜୀତ ପର୍ବତ ଉପରେ ବସି ଥିଲେ, ତାହାଙ୍କର ଶିଷ୍ଯମାନେ ସେ ଏକାନ୍ତ ରେ ଥିବା ସମୟରେ ତାହାଙ୍କ ପାଖକୁ ଆସିଲେ। ସମାନେେ ପଚ଼ାରିଲେ, ଆମ୍ଭକୁ କୁହନ୍ତୁ, ଏସବୁ ଘଟଣା କବେେ ଘଟିବ? କେଉଁ ସଙ୍କତେ ଦଖାଇବେ ଯେ ଆପଣଙ୍କ ପୁନର୍ବାର ଆସିବ ଓ ଜଗତର ଅନ୍ତ ହବୋ ସମୟ ହେଲାଣି?

ପରେ ଯୀଶୁ ମନ୍ଦିର ସାମନା ରେ ଥିବା ଜୀତ ପର୍ବତ ଉପରେ ବସିଥିଲେ। ତାହାଙ୍କ ସହିତ ପିତର, ଯାକୁବ, ଯୋହନ ଓ ଆନ୍ଦ୍ରିୟ ଥିଲେ। ସମାନେେ ଯୀଶୁଙ୍କୁ ବ୍ଯକ୍ତିଗତଭାବେ ପଚାରିଲେ,
Mark 6:7
ଯୀଶୁ ବାର ଜଣ ଶିଷ୍ଯଙ୍କୁ ଏକାଠି ଡାକିଲେ। ସେ ସମାନଙ୍କେୁ ଦୁଇ-ଦୁଇ ଜଣ କରି ବାହାରକୁ ପଠାଇଲେ। ସେ ସମାନଙ୍କେୁ ଦୁଷ୍ଟାତ୍ମାମାନଙ୍କ ଉପରେ କ୍ଷମତା ପ୍ରଦାନ କଲେ।
