ସଠାେରେ ଜଣେ ମିଦିଯନୀଯ ଯାଜକ ଥିଲେ, ଯାହାଙ୍କର ସାତାଟେି କନ୍ଯା ଥିଲେ। ସହେି କନ୍ଯାମାନେ ସହେି କୂପ ନିକଟକୁ ତାଙ୍କର ପିତାଙ୍କର ମଷେପଲ ପାଇଁ ପାଣି ନବୋକୁ ଆସିଥିଲେ। ସମାନେେ ପାଣି କାଢ଼ି ସହେି କୁଣ୍ଡଟିକୁ ପୁର୍ଣ୍ଣ କରିବାକୁ ଲାଗିଲେ।

ମୁଁ ଅପେକ୍ଷା କଲି ତୁମ୍ଭର ଚିହ୍ନ ପାଇଁ କିଏ ଇସ୍ହାକର ସ୍ତ୍ରୀ ହବେ। ମୁଁ ସହେି ଝିଅକୁ କହିବି 'ଦୟାକରି ତୁମ୍ଭର ପାତ୍ର ମାେ ଆଡ଼କୁ ତଳମୁହାଁ କର। ତେଣୁ ମୁଁ ପାଣି ପିଇ ପାରିବି।' ମୁଁ ଜାଣିପାରିବି ସହେି ହେଉଛି ଉପୟୁକ୍ତ ପାତ୍ରୀ ୟିଏ କହିବ, 'ପାଣି ପିଅ ଏବଂ ମୁଁ ତୁମ୍ଭର ଓଟମାନଙ୍କୁ ମଧ୍ଯ ପାଣି ଦବେି।' ଯଦି ଏହିପରି ହୁଏ, ତବେେ ମୁଁ ଜାଣିବି ସେ ହେଉଛି ଇସ୍ହାକ ପାଇଁ ଉପୟୁକ୍ତ କନ୍ଯା। ଏବଂ ମୁଁ ଜାଣିବି ତୁମ୍ଭେ ମାରେ ମୁନିବଙ୍କ ଉପରେ ଦୟା କଲ।
