Psalm 49

1 ହେ ଜାତିଗଣ ସମୂହ ଶୁଣ, ହେ ପୃଥିବୀବାସୀ ଲୋକମାନେ ଶୁଣ,

2 ପ୍ରେତ୍ୟକକ ମଣିଷ ଧନୀ ଦରିଦ୍ର ନିର୍ବିଶଷେରେ ସମସ୍ତେ ଶୁଣ,

3 ମୁଁ ତୁମ୍ଭକୁ ଅତି ଜ୍ଞାନଗର୍ଭକ ଓ ବୁଦ୍ଧିମାନର କଥା କହିବି।

4 ମୁଁ ସେ ସବୁ ୟେ ଶୁଣି ଅଛି ଓ ବର୍ତ୍ତମାନ ମୁଁ ସେ ସବୁକୁ ମାରେ ବୀଣାବାଦନ ସହିତ ଗାଯନ କରିବି ଏବଂ ତୁମ୍ଭ ନିକଟରେ ସହେି ଗୁଢ଼ ବିଷଯସବୁ ପ୍ରକାଶ କରିବି।

5 ୟଦି ବିପଦ ପଡ଼େ ମୁଁ କାହିଁକି ଭୟଭୀତ ହବେି। ୟଦି ଦୁଷ୍ଟ ଲୋକମାନେ ମାରେ ଚାରିକଡ଼ରେ ଘରେିୟାଇ ମାେତେ ୟନ୍ତାରେ ପକାଇବାକୁ ଚେଷ୍ଟା କରନ୍ତି, ସଠାେରେ ମଧ୍ଯ ମାରେ ଭୟ କରିବାର କୌଣସି କାରଣ ନାହିଁ।

6 ଅନକେ ଲୋକ ଭାବନ୍ତି ସମାନଙ୍କେର ଧନ ଓ ବଳ ସମାନଙ୍କେୁ ରକ୍ଷା କରିବ କିନ୍ତୁ ସହେି ଲୋକମାନେ ମୂର୍ଖ ଅଟନ୍ତି।

7 କହେି ମନୁଷ୍ଯ ବନ୍ଧୁ ତୁମ୍ଭକୁ ବଞ୍ଚାଇପାରିବେ ନାହିଁ କି ତୁମ୍ଭେ ପରମେଶ୍ବରଙ୍କୁ ଲାଞ୍ଚ ଦଇପୋରିବ ନାହିଁ।

8 ଏମିତି କୌଣସି ବ୍ଯକ୍ତି ନାହିଁ ୟିଏ ଅଧିକ ଧନ ଦଇେ ତା'ର ଜୀବନକୁ ପ୍ରାଯାଶ୍ଚିତ କରିପାରିବ।

9 କୌଣସି ବ୍ଯକ୍ତିର ନିକଟରେ ଏବେ ଧନ ନାହିଁ ୟେ ସେ ଚିରଦିନ ବଞ୍ଚିବା ପାଇଁ ସବୁ ଜିନିଷ ଧନରେ କିଣି ପାରିବ ଓ ତା'ର ଶରୀରକୁ ରକ୍ଷା କରିପାରିବ, ୟାହାକି କବର ମଧ୍ୟରେ ନଷ୍ଟ ହାଇେଥିବ।

10 ଦେଖ !ବୁଦ୍ଧିମାନ୍ ଲୋକମାନେ ମୃତ୍ଯୁବରଣ କରନ୍ତି, ୟମେିତିକି ମୂର୍ଖ ଓ ନିର୍ ବୋଧ ଲୋକମାନେ ମୃତ୍ଯୁବରଣ କରନ୍ତି ଓ ନିଜର ସମ୍ପତ୍ତି ଅନ୍ୟ ପାଇଁ ଛାଡ଼ି ୟାଆନ୍ତି।

11 ସମାନଙ୍କେ କବର ସମାନଙ୍କେ ପାଇଁ ଚିରଦିନ ନୂତନ ବାସସ୍ଥଳୀ ଅଟେ ଏବଂ ୟତେେ ଭୂମି ସମାନେେ ଅଧିକାର କରିଥିଲେ ହେଁ, ଏହା ସମାନଙ୍କେ ପାଇଁ ମୂଲ୍ଯହୀନ ଅଟେ।

12 ଲୋକମାନେ ବିତ୍ତଶାଳୀ ହାଇେ ପାରନ୍ତି। କିନ୍ତୁ ସମାନେେ ଏଠାରେ ଚିରଦିନ ରହିପାରିବେ ନାହିଁ। ସମାନେେ ପଶୁ ତୁଲ୍ଯ ମୃତ୍ଯୁବରଣ କରିବେ।

13 ସହେି ମୂର୍ଖ ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କ ଭାଗ୍ଯରେ ଏହିପରି ଘଟେ। ଯେଉଁମାନେ ନିଜର ସମ୍ପତ୍ତିକୁ ଅଧିକ ଭଲ ପାଆନ୍ତି।

14 ସହେି ଲୋକମାନେ ମଷେମାନଙ୍କ ପରି ଅଟନ୍ତି। ସମାନେେ ଶଷେରେ ସହେି କବରରେ ପତିତ ହବେେ ଓ ମୃତ୍ଯୁ ସମାନଙ୍କେ ମଷେପାଳକ ହବେ। ତା'ପରେ ସହେି ସକାଳେ ଉତ୍ତମ ବ୍ଯକ୍ତିଗଣ ବିଜଯୀ ହବେେ। ସହେି ଦୁଷ୍ଟ ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କର ଶରୀର କବର ମଧ୍ୟରେ ଧୀରେ ଧୀରେ ନଷ୍ଟ ହବୋକୁ ଲାଗିବ, ସମାନଙ୍କେର ନିଜ ସୁଶୋଭିତ ଗୃହଠାରୁ ବହୁତ ଦୂରରେ ହବେ।

15 କିନ୍ତୁ ପରମେଶ୍ବର ମାେତେ ସେଥିରୁ ମୁକ୍ତ କରିବେ ଓ ମାରେ ଜୀବନ ବଞ୍ଚାଇବେ। ସେ ମାେତେ ଉଦ୍ଧାର କରିବେ, ସହେି ମୃତ୍ଯୁର କବର ମଧ୍ଯରୁ ସେତବେେଳେ ସେ ମାେତେ ତାଙ୍କର ସଙ୍ଗରେ ନଇେଯିବେ।

16 କବଳେ ସମାନେେ ଧନୀ ବୋଲି ସମାନଙ୍କେୁ ଭୟ କର ନାହିଁ। ସହେି ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କୁ ଭୟ କର ନାହିଁ ଯେଉଁମାନଙ୍କର ସୁଶୋଭିତ ଗୃହ ରହିଛି।

17 ସହେି ଲୋକମାନେ ଯେତବେେଳେ ମୃତ୍ଯୁବରଣ କରିବେ ସମାନେେ ସାଙ୍ଗରେ କିଛି ନଇେଯିବେ ନାହିଁ। ତାଙ୍କର ଐଶ୍ଚର୍ୟ୍ଯ ତାଙ୍କ ସଙ୍ଗରେ ୟିବ ନାହିଁ।

18 ଜଣେ ଧନୀ ବ୍ଯକ୍ତି ପ୍ରକୃତରେ ନିଜ ଜୀବନରେ ୟାହା ସବୁ କରିଛି ସେଥିପାଇଁ ନିଜକୁ କବଳେ ଧନ୍ଯବାଦ ଦିଏ। ହଁ, ଅନ୍ୟ ଲୋକମାନେ ମଧ୍ଯ ତା'କୁ ପ୍ରଶଂସା କରି କହନ୍ତି, ସେ ତା'ର ଜୀବନରେ କିପରି ଉତ୍ତମ ସଫଳତା ହାସଲ କରିଛି।

19 ଶଷେରେ କିନ୍ତୁ ସମୟ ଆସିବ ତାକୁ ମରିବାକୁ ପଡ଼ିବ ଓ ତାକୁ ତା'ର ପୂର୍ବପୁରୁଷଙ୍କ ନିକଟକୁ ୟିବାକୁ ପଡ଼ିବ ଓ ସେ କବେେ ଆଉ ଦିନର ଆ ଲୋକ ଦେଖିପାରିବ ନାହିଁ।

20 ଲୋକମାନେ ବିତ୍ତଶାଳୀ ହାଇପୋରନ୍ତି, ତଥାପି ସମାନେେ ବୁଝିପାରନ୍ତି ନାହିଁ ୟେ ସମାନେେ ମଧ୍ଯ ପଶୁଭଳି ମୃତ୍ଯୁବରଣ କରିବେ।

1 ହେ ଜାତିଗଣ ସମୂହ ଶୁଣ, ହେ ପୃଥିବୀବାସୀ ଲୋକମାନେ ଶୁଣ,

2 ପ୍ରେତ୍ୟକକ ମଣିଷ ଧନୀ ଦରିଦ୍ର ନିର୍ବିଶଷେରେ ସମସ୍ତେ ଶୁଣ,

3 ମୁଁ ତୁମ୍ଭକୁ ଅତି ଜ୍ଞାନଗର୍ଭକ ଓ ବୁଦ୍ଧିମାନର କଥା କହିବି।

2 Hear this, all ye people; give ear, all ye inhabitants of the world:

3 Both low and high, rich and poor, together.

4 My mouth shall speak of wisdom; and the meditation of my heart shall be of understanding.

5 I will incline mine ear to a parable: I will open my dark saying upon the harp.

6 Wherefore should I fear in the days of evil, when the iniquity of my heels shall compass me about?

7 They that trust in their wealth, and boast themselves in the multitude of their riches;

8 None of them can by any means redeem his brother, nor give to God a ransom for him:

9 (For the redemption of their soul is precious, and it ceaseth for ever:)

10 That he should still live for ever, and not see corruption.

11 For he seeth that wise men die, likewise the fool and the brutish person perish, and leave their wealth to others.

12 Their inward thought is, that their houses shall continue for ever, and their dwelling places to all generations; they call their lands after their own names.

13 Nevertheless man being in honour abideth not: he is like the beasts that perish.

14 This their way is their folly: yet their posterity approve their sayings. Selah.

15 Like sheep they are laid in the grave; death shall feed on them; and the upright shall have dominion over them in the morning; and their beauty shall consume in the grave from their dwelling.

16 But God will redeem my soul from the power of the grave: for he shall receive me. Selah.

17 Be not thou afraid when one is made rich, when the glory of his house is increased;

18 For when he dieth he shall carry nothing away: his glory shall not descend after him.

19 Though while he lived he blessed his soul: and men will praise thee, when thou doest well to thyself.

20 He shall go to the generation of his fathers; they shall never see light.

21 Man that is in honour, and understandeth not, is like the beasts that perish.

1 ହେ ଜାତିଗଣ ସମୂହ ଶୁଣ, ହେ ପୃଥିବୀବାସୀ ଲୋକମାନେ ଶୁଣ,
Hear this, all ye people; give ear, all ye inhabitants of the world:

2 ପ୍ରେତ୍ୟକକ ମଣିଷ ଧନୀ ଦରିଦ୍ର ନିର୍ବିଶଷେରେ ସମସ୍ତେ ଶୁଣ,
Both low and high, rich and poor, together.

3 ମୁଁ ତୁମ୍ଭକୁ ଅତି ଜ୍ଞାନଗର୍ଭକ ଓ ବୁଦ୍ଧିମାନର କଥା କହିବି।
My mouth shall speak of wisdom; and the meditation of my heart shall be of understanding.

4 ମୁଁ ସେ ସବୁ ୟେ ଶୁଣି ଅଛି ଓ ବର୍ତ୍ତମାନ ମୁଁ ସେ ସବୁକୁ ମାରେ ବୀଣାବାଦନ ସହିତ ଗାଯନ କରିବି ଏବଂ ତୁମ୍ଭ ନିକଟରେ ସହେି ଗୁଢ଼ ବିଷଯସବୁ ପ୍ରକାଶ କରିବି।
I will incline mine ear to a parable: I will open my dark saying upon the harp.

5 ୟଦି ବିପଦ ପଡ଼େ ମୁଁ କାହିଁକି ଭୟଭୀତ ହବେି। ୟଦି ଦୁଷ୍ଟ ଲୋକମାନେ ମାରେ ଚାରିକଡ଼ରେ ଘରେିୟାଇ ମାେତେ ୟନ୍ତାରେ ପକାଇବାକୁ ଚେଷ୍ଟା କରନ୍ତି, ସଠାେରେ ମଧ୍ଯ ମାରେ ଭୟ କରିବାର କୌଣସି କାରଣ ନାହିଁ।
Wherefore should I fear in the days of evil, when the iniquity of my heels shall compass me about?

6 ଅନକେ ଲୋକ ଭାବନ୍ତି ସମାନଙ୍କେର ଧନ ଓ ବଳ ସମାନଙ୍କେୁ ରକ୍ଷା କରିବ କିନ୍ତୁ ସହେି ଲୋକମାନେ ମୂର୍ଖ ଅଟନ୍ତି।
They that trust in their wealth, and boast themselves in the multitude of their riches;

7 କହେି ମନୁଷ୍ଯ ବନ୍ଧୁ ତୁମ୍ଭକୁ ବଞ୍ଚାଇପାରିବେ ନାହିଁ କି ତୁମ୍ଭେ ପରମେଶ୍ବରଙ୍କୁ ଲାଞ୍ଚ ଦଇପୋରିବ ନାହିଁ।
None of them can by any means redeem his brother, nor give to God a ransom for him:

8 ଏମିତି କୌଣସି ବ୍ଯକ୍ତି ନାହିଁ ୟିଏ ଅଧିକ ଧନ ଦଇେ ତା'ର ଜୀବନକୁ ପ୍ରାଯାଶ୍ଚିତ କରିପାରିବ।
(For the redemption of their soul is precious, and it ceaseth for ever:)

9 କୌଣସି ବ୍ଯକ୍ତିର ନିକଟରେ ଏବେ ଧନ ନାହିଁ ୟେ ସେ ଚିରଦିନ ବଞ୍ଚିବା ପାଇଁ ସବୁ ଜିନିଷ ଧନରେ କିଣି ପାରିବ ଓ ତା'ର ଶରୀରକୁ ରକ୍ଷା କରିପାରିବ, ୟାହାକି କବର ମଧ୍ୟରେ ନଷ୍ଟ ହାଇେଥିବ।
That he should still live for ever, and not see corruption.

10 ଦେଖ !ବୁଦ୍ଧିମାନ୍ ଲୋକମାନେ ମୃତ୍ଯୁବରଣ କରନ୍ତି, ୟମେିତିକି ମୂର୍ଖ ଓ ନିର୍ ବୋଧ ଲୋକମାନେ ମୃତ୍ଯୁବରଣ କରନ୍ତି ଓ ନିଜର ସମ୍ପତ୍ତି ଅନ୍ୟ ପାଇଁ ଛାଡ଼ି ୟାଆନ୍ତି।
For he seeth that wise men die, likewise the fool and the brutish person perish, and leave their wealth to others.

11 ସମାନଙ୍କେ କବର ସମାନଙ୍କେ ପାଇଁ ଚିରଦିନ ନୂତନ ବାସସ୍ଥଳୀ ଅଟେ ଏବଂ ୟତେେ ଭୂମି ସମାନେେ ଅଧିକାର କରିଥିଲେ ହେଁ, ଏହା ସମାନଙ୍କେ ପାଇଁ ମୂଲ୍ଯହୀନ ଅଟେ।
Their inward thought is, that their houses shall continue for ever, and their dwelling places to all generations; they call their lands after their own names.

12 ଲୋକମାନେ ବିତ୍ତଶାଳୀ ହାଇେ ପାରନ୍ତି। କିନ୍ତୁ ସମାନେେ ଏଠାରେ ଚିରଦିନ ରହିପାରିବେ ନାହିଁ। ସମାନେେ ପଶୁ ତୁଲ୍ଯ ମୃତ୍ଯୁବରଣ କରିବେ।
Nevertheless man being in honour abideth not: he is like the beasts that perish.

13 ସହେି ମୂର୍ଖ ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କ ଭାଗ୍ଯରେ ଏହିପରି ଘଟେ। ଯେଉଁମାନେ ନିଜର ସମ୍ପତ୍ତିକୁ ଅଧିକ ଭଲ ପାଆନ୍ତି।
This their way is their folly: yet their posterity approve their sayings. Selah.

15 କିନ୍ତୁ ପରମେଶ୍ବର ମାେତେ ସେଥିରୁ ମୁକ୍ତ କରିବେ ଓ ମାରେ ଜୀବନ ବଞ୍ଚାଇବେ। ସେ ମାେତେ ଉଦ୍ଧାର କରିବେ, ସହେି ମୃତ୍ଯୁର କବର ମଧ୍ଯରୁ ସେତବେେଳେ ସେ ମାେତେ ତାଙ୍କର ସଙ୍ଗରେ ନଇେଯିବେ।
But God will redeem my soul from the power of the grave: for he shall receive me. Selah.

16 କବଳେ ସମାନେେ ଧନୀ ବୋଲି ସମାନଙ୍କେୁ ଭୟ କର ନାହିଁ। ସହେି ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କୁ ଭୟ କର ନାହିଁ ଯେଉଁମାନଙ୍କର ସୁଶୋଭିତ ଗୃହ ରହିଛି।
Be not thou afraid when one is made rich, when the glory of his house is increased;

17 ସହେି ଲୋକମାନେ ଯେତବେେଳେ ମୃତ୍ଯୁବରଣ କରିବେ ସମାନେେ ସାଙ୍ଗରେ କିଛି ନଇେଯିବେ ନାହିଁ। ତାଙ୍କର ଐଶ୍ଚର୍ୟ୍ଯ ତାଙ୍କ ସଙ୍ଗରେ ୟିବ ନାହିଁ।

19 ଶଷେରେ କିନ୍ତୁ ସମୟ ଆସିବ ତାକୁ ମରିବାକୁ ପଡ଼ିବ ଓ ତାକୁ ତା'ର ପୂର୍ବପୁରୁଷଙ୍କ ନିକଟକୁ ୟିବାକୁ ପଡ଼ିବ ଓ ସେ କବେେ ଆଉ ଦିନର ଆ ଲୋକ ଦେଖିପାରିବ ନାହିଁ।
He shall go to the generation of his fathers; they shall never see light.

20 ଲୋକମାନେ ବିତ୍ତଶାଳୀ ହାଇପୋରନ୍ତି, ତଥାପି ସମାନେେ ବୁଝିପାରନ୍ତି ନାହିଁ ୟେ ସମାନେେ ମଧ୍ଯ ପଶୁଭଳି ମୃତ୍ଯୁବରଣ କରିବେ।
Man that is in honour, and understandeth not, is like the beasts that perish.
