ତୁମ୍ଭମାନେେ କ'ଣ ପଢିନାହଁ ଯେ, ଅବିଯାଥାର ମହାୟାଜକ ଥିବା ସମୟରେ ଦାଉଦ ପରମେଶ୍ବରଙ୍କ ମନ୍ଦିର ରେ ପ୍ରବେଶ କରି ପରମେଶ୍ବରଙ୍କୁ ଅର୍ପଣ କରାଯାଇ ଥିବା ଖାଦ୍ୟ ଖାଇଥିଲେ? ମାଶାଙ୍କେ ନିୟମ ଅନୁସାରେ ଯାଜକମାନେ କବଳେ ସହେି ଖାଦ୍ୟ ଖାଇ ପାରିବେ। ତାହାଙ୍କ ବ୍ଯତୀତ ଆଉ କାହାରିକୁ ସହେି ଖାଦ୍ୟ ଖାଇବାର ଅଧିକାର ନାହିଁ। କିନ୍ତୁ ଦାଉଦ ସେ ଖାଦ୍ୟରୁ କିଛି ମଧ୍ଯ ତାହାଙ୍କ ସହିତ ଥିବା ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କୁ ଖାଇବାକୁ ଦଇେଥିଲେ।

ତା'ପରେ ରାଜା ଯାଜକ ଅବିଯାଥରକୁ କହିଲେ, ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଅନାେଥାତ ସ୍ଥିତ ତୁମ୍ଭର ଗୃହକୁ ୟାଅ। କାରଣ ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଯଦିଓ ମୃତ୍ଯୁ ଯୋଗ୍ଯ, ମୁଁ ତୁମ୍ଭକୁ ବର୍ତ୍ତମାନ ବଧ କରିବାକୁ ଯାଉନାହିଁ, କାରଣ ତୁମ୍ଭେ ମାରେ ପିତା ଦାଉଦଙ୍କ ସମ୍ମୁଖ ରେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ପବିତ୍ର ସିନ୍ଦୁକ ବହନ କରିଥିଲ ଓ ତୁମ୍ଭେ ମାେ ପିତାଙ୍କର କଠିନ ସମୟରେ ସହେି ପ୍ରକାର ବିପଦଗୁଡିକରେ ଭାଗୀ ହାଇେଥିଲା।
