ସହେି ସମୟରେ ସଠାେରେ ପ୍ରାୟ ଶ ହକେୋଡ଼ିଏ ଜଣ ବିଶ୍ବାସୀ ଏକତ୍ର ହାଇେଥିଲେ। ପିତର ସମାନଙ୍କେ ମଧିଅରେ ଠିଆ ହାଇେ କହିଲେ,

ତେଣୁ ଭାଇମାନଙ୍କ ମଧିଅରେ ଗୋଟିଏ କଥେ ପ୍ରଚାରିତ ହେଲା। ସମାନେେ କହୁଥିଲେ ଯେ, ଯୀଶୁ ଯେଉଁ ଶିଷ୍ଯଙ୍କୁ ପ୍ ରମେ କରୁଛନ୍ତି, ସହେି ଶିଷ୍ଯ ମରିବେ ନାହିଁ। କିନ୍ତୁ ଯୀଶୁ ଏକଥା କହି ନଥିଲେ ଯେ, ସେ ମରିବ ନାହିଁ। ସେ କବଳେ କହିଲେ, ମାରେପୁନରାଗମନ ସମୟ ପର୍ୟ୍ଯନ୍ତ ସେ ବଞ୍ଚି ରହୁ ବୋଲି ଯଦି ମୁଁ ଇଚ୍ଛାକରେ, ତବେେ ସେଥିଲେ ତୁମ୍ଭର କ'ଣ ଅଛି?
John 21:15
ସମାନେେ ଖାଇବା ପରେ ଯୀଶୁ ଶିମାନେ ପିତରଙ୍କୁ କହିଲେ, ଯୋହନଙ୍କର ପୁତ୍ର ଶିମାନେ। ତୁମ୍ଭେ କ'ଣ ମାେତେ ଏମାନଙ୍କ ଅପେକ୍ଷା ଅଧିକ ପ୍ ରମେ କର?
