4 ମାୟୋବର ରାଜା ମାଶାେ ମଷୋଧିକାରୀ ଥିଲେ। ସେ ଇଶ୍ରାୟେଲର ରାଜାଙ୍କୁ କରରୂପେ 1,00,000 ମଷେବତ୍ସର ଓ 1,00,000 ମଷେର ଲୋମ ପ୍ରତିବର୍ଷ ଦେଉଥିଲେ।
5 ମାତ୍ର ଆହାବ୍ଙ୍କ ମୃତ୍ଯୁପରେ ମାୟୋବର ରାଜା ଇଶ୍ରାୟେଲର ରାଜାଙ୍କ ବିରୁଦ୍ଧାଚରଣ କଲେ।
6 ସେତବେେଳେ ରାଜା ଯିହାରୋମ୍ ଶମରିଯାରୁ ୟାଇ ଇଶ୍ରାୟେଲର ସମସ୍ତ ଲୋକଙ୍କୁ ଏକତ୍ର କଲେ।
7 ତତ୍ପରେ ଯିହାରୋମ୍ ଯିହୁଦାର ରାଜା ଯିହାଶାଫେଟ୍ଙ୍କ ନିକଟକୁ ଦୂତ ପଠାଇ କହିଲେ, ମାୟୋବର ରାଜା ମାେ ବିରୁଦ୍ଧ ରେ େଦ୍ରାହାଚରଣ କରିଛି, ତୁମ୍ଭେ ମାେ ସହିତ ୟୁଦ୍ଧ କରିବାକୁ ମାୟୋବ ବିରୁଦ୍ଧ ରେ ୟିବ କି?
4 And Mesha king of Moab was a sheepmaster, and rendered unto the king of Israel an hundred thousand lambs, and an hundred thousand rams, with the wool.
5 But it came to pass, when Ahab was dead, that the king of Moab rebelled against the king of Israel.
6 And king Jehoram went out of Samaria the same time, and numbered all Israel.
7 And he went and sent to Jehoshaphat the king of Judah, saying, The king of Moab hath rebelled against me: wilt thou go with me against Moab to battle? And he said, I will go up: I am as thou art, my people as thy people, and my horses as thy horses.
