ମାତ୍ର ଜନ ସାଧାରଣ ସହେି ହତ୍ଯାକାରୀଙ୍କୁ, ସମସ୍ତ ଯେଉଁମାନେ ଆମାେନ୍ ରାଜାଙ୍କ ବିରୁଦ୍ଧ ରେ ଷଡୟନ୍ତ୍ର କରୁଥିଲେ ତାଙ୍କୁ ବଧ କଲେ। ତା'ପରେ ସମାନେେ ତାଙ୍କର ପୁତ୍ର ଯୋଶିୟଯଙ୍କୁ ତାଙ୍କ ପଦ ରେ ରାଜା କରାଇଲେ।

ଏହାପରେ ଯିହୁଦାର ଲୋକମାନେ ଉଷିୟଙ୍କୁ ଅମତ୍ସିଯଙ୍କ ସ୍ଥାନ ରେ ନୂତନ ରାଜା ହବୋ ନିମନ୍ତେ ମନୋନୀତ କଲେ। ଅମତ୍ସିଯ ଊଷିଯଙ୍କ ପିତା ଥିଲେ ଉଷିୟ ଷୋହଳ ବର୍ଷ ବଯସ୍କ ହାଇେଥିବା ସମୟରେ ଏହିପରି ଘଟିଲା।

ୟିରୁଶାଲମର ଲୋକମାନେ ଅହସିଯଙ୍କୁ ୟିହୋରାମ୍ଙ୍କ ସ୍ଥାନ ରେ ନୂତନ ରାଜା ରୂପେ ମନୋନୀତ କଲେ। ଅହସିଯ ଯିହାରୋମ୍ଙ୍କର କନିଷ୍ଠ ପୁତ୍ର ଥିଲେ। ଯେଉଁ ଆରବୀଯ ଲୋକମାନେ ଯିହାରୋମ୍ଙ୍କର ଛାଉଣୀ ଉପରେ ଆକ୍ରମଣ କରିବାକୁ ଆସିଥିଲେ, ସମାନେେ ଯିହାରୋମ୍ଙ୍କର ସମସ୍ତ ଜେଷ୍ଠପୁତ୍ରଙ୍କୁ ବଧ କରିଥିଲେ। ଅତଏବ, ଅହସିଯ ଯିହୁଦା ରେ ରାଜ୍ଯ ଶାସନ କରିବାକୁ ଆରମ୍ଭ କଲେ।
