ती ज्योतिषीहरूले मानिसहरूलाई यसोभनी सोधे, ‘यहूदीहरूका राजा भएर जन्मेका उहाँ कहाँ हुनुहुन्छ? हामीले उहाँको तारा पूर्वमा देख्यौं जसले उहाँ जन्मेको संकेत दिएको छ। हामिले पुर्वी आकाशमा तारा उदय हुँदै गरेको देख्यौ। हामी उहाँको आराधना गर्न आएका छौं।’

இதற்குப்பின்பு தாவீதின் மகனான அப்சலோமிற்குத் தாமார் என்னும் பெயருள்ள அழகான ஒரு சகோதரி இருந்தாள்; அவள்மேல் தாவீதின் மகன் அம்னோன் ஆசை வைத்தான்.
