अहीतोपेल दाऊदका एकजना सल्लाहकार थिए। अहीतोपेल गीलोह शहरका बासिन्दा थिए। जब अब्शालोमले बलिदान चढाउन पुगे तब गीलोह शहरबाट अहीतोपेललाई पनि बोलाए। अब्शालोमको योजना ठीकसँग कार्यन्वित हुँदै थियो अनि धेरै भन्दा धेरै मानिसहरू तिनको पक्षमा लाग्नथाले।
