जब बेत-शेमेशका मानिसहरूले परमप्रभुको पवित्र सन्दूक देखे त्यो हेरचाह गर्न तिनीहरूलाई सिकाउने त्यहाँ कुनै पूजाहारी थिएन। यसकारणले बेत-शेमेशेका सत्तरीजना मानिसहरूलाई परमेश्वरले मार्नुभयो। परमप्रभुले कठोर दण्ड दिनुभयो भनेर बेत-शेमेशका मानिसहरूले अलाप विलाप गर्न थाले।
