अरामी प्रधानहरूले देखे कि इस्राएलीहरूले तिनीहरूलाई परास्त गरे। यसर्थ तिनीहरूले यूफ्रेटिस नदीको पूर्वतिर बसेका अरामी मानिसहरू बाट सहायता पाउनका निम्ति दूतहरू पठाए। शोपक अरामका हदर-एजेरका सेनापति थिए। शोपकले ती अन्य अरामी सैनिकहरूको पनि अगुवाइ गरे।
