ശമൂവേൽ ജീവപര്യന്തം ശൌലിനെ പിന്നെ കണ്ടില്ല; എങ്കിലും ശമൂവേൽ ശൌലിനെക്കുറിച്ചു ദുഃഖിച്ചു; യഹോവയും താൻ ശൌലിനെ യിസ്രായേലിന്നു രാജാവാക്കിയതുകൊണ്ടു അനുതപിച്ചു.

ശമൂവേൽ-1 19:24
അവൻ തന്റെ വസ്ത്രം ഉരിഞ്ഞുകളഞ്ഞു. അങ്ങനെ ശമൂവേലിന്റെ മുമ്പാകെ പ്രവചിച്ചുകൊണ്ടു അന്നു രാപകൽ മുഴുവനും നഗ്നനായി കിടന്നു. ആകയാൽ ശൌലും ഉണ്ടോ പ്രവാചകഗണത്തിൽ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞുവരുന്നു.
