വിദ്വാന്മാർ തന്നെ കളിയാക്കി എന്നു ഹെരോദാവു കണ്ടു വളരെ കോപിച്ചു, വിദ്വാന്മാരോടു ചോദിച്ചറിഞ്ഞ കാലത്തിന്നു ഒത്തവണ്ണം രണ്ടു വയസ്സും താഴെയുമുള്ള ആൺകുട്ടികളെ ഒക്കെയും ബേത്ത്ളേഹെമിലും അതിന്റെ എല്ലാ അതിരുകളിലും ആളയച്ചു കൊല്ലിച്ചു.
