അവന്റെ ഭൃത്യന്മാർ അവനെ രഥത്തിൽവെച്ചു യെരൂശലേമിലേക്കു കെണ്ടുപോയി ദാവീദിന്റെ നഗരത്തിൽ അവന്റെ പിതാക്കന്മാരോടുകൂടെ അവന്റെ കല്ലറയിൽ അവനെ അടക്കംചെയ്തു.

ശിമെയാത്തിന്റെ മകനായ യോസാഖാർ, ശോമേരിന്റെ മകനായ യെഹോസാബാദ് എന്നീ ഭൃത്യന്മരായിരുന്നു അവനെ വെട്ടിക്കൊന്നതു. ദാവീദിന്റെ നഗരത്തിൽ അവന്റെ പിതാക്കന്മാരോടുകൂടെ അവനെ അടക്കം ചെയ്തു; അവന്റെ മകനായ അമസ്യാവു അവന്നു പകരം രാജാവായ്തീർന്നു.

യെരൂശലേമിൽ അവന്നു വിരോധമായി ഒരു കൂട്ടുകെട്ടുണ്ടായിട്ടു അവൻ ലാഖീശിലേക്കു ഓടിപ്പോയി; എന്നാൽ അവർ അവന്റെ പിന്നാലെ ലാഖീശിലേക്കു ആളയച്ചു അവിടെവെച്ചു അവനെ കൊന്നുകളഞ്ഞു.

അവൻ അവിടെയുള്ള പൂജാഗിരിപുരോഹിതന്മാരെയൊക്കെയും ബലിപീഠങ്ങളിന്മേൽ വെട്ടിക്കൊല്ലിക്കയും അവയുടെ മേൽ മനുഷ്യാസ്ഥികൾ ചുടുകയും ചെയ്തിട്ടു യെരൂശലേമിലകൂ മടങ്ങിപ്പോന്നു.
