ബേൽശസ്സർ വീഞ്ഞു കുടിച്ചു രസിച്ചിരിക്കുമ്പോൾ, തന്റെ അപ്പനായ നെബൂഖദ്നേസർ യെരൂശലേമിലെ മന്ദിരത്തിൽനിന്നു എടുത്തുകൊണ്ടുവന്നിരുന്ന പൊൻ വെള്ളി പാത്രങ്ങളെ, രാജാവും മഹത്തുക്കളും അവന്റെ ഭാര്യമാരും വെപ്പാട്ടികളും അവയിൽ കുടിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നായി കൊണ്ടുവരുവാൻ കല്പിച്ചു.
