ആകയാൽ നീ ചെന്നു അമാലേക്യരെ തോല്പിച്ചു അവർക്കുള്ളതൊക്കെയും നിർമ്മൂലമാക്കിക്കളക; അവരോടു കനിവു തോന്നരുതു; പുരുഷന്മാരെയും സ്ത്രീകളെയും കുട്ടികളെയും മുലകുടിക്കുന്നവരെയും കാള, ആടു, ഒട്ടകം, കഴുത എന്നിവയെയും സംഹരിച്ചുകളക.

ശേഷിച്ചവർ അഫേക്ക് പട്ടണത്തിലേക്കു ഓടിപ്പോയി; ശേഷിച്ചിരുന്ന ഇരുപത്തേഴായിരം പേരുടെമേൽ പട്ടണമതിൽ വീണു. ബെൻ-ഹദദും ഓടി പട്ടണത്തിന്നകത്തു കടന്നു ഒരു ഉള്ളറയിൽ ഒളിച്ചു.

അവൻ അവനോടു: എന്റെ അപ്പൻ നിന്റെ അപ്പനോടു പിടിച്ചടക്കിയ പട്ടണങ്ങളെ ഞാൻ മടക്കിത്തരാം; എന്റെ അപ്പൻ ശമര്യയിൽ ഉണ്ടാക്കിയതു പോലെ നീ ദമ്മേശെക്കിൽ നിനക്കു തെരുവീഥികളെ ഉണ്ടാക്കിക്കൊൾക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. അതിന്നു ആഹാബ്: ഈ ഉടമ്പടിയിന്മേൽ ഞാൻ നിന്നെ വിട്ടയക്കാം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. അങ്ങനെ അവൻ അവനോടു ഉടമ്പടി ചെയ്തു അവനെ വിട്ടയച്ചു.

ദാവീദും അവന്റെ ആളുകളും ഗെശൂർയ്യരെയും ഗെസ്രിയരെയും അമാലേക്യരെയും ചെന്നു ആക്രമിച്ചു. ഇവർ ശൂർവരെയും മിസ്രയീംദേശംവരെയുമുള്ള നാട്ടിലെ പൂർവ്വ നിവാസികളായിരുന്നു.
