എന്നാൽ നീ എനിക്കു മുമ്പെ ഗില്ഗാലിലേക്കു പോകേണം; ഹോമയാഗങ്ങളും സമാധാനയാഗങ്ങളും കഴിപ്പാൻ ഞാൻ നിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വരും; ഞാൻ നിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വന്നു നീ ചെയ്യേണ്ടതെന്തെന്നു പറഞ്ഞുതരുവോളം ഏഴു ദിവസം അവിടെ കാത്തിരിക്കേണം.

ശമൂവേൽ നിശ്ചയിച്ചിരുന്ന അവധിഅനുസരിച്ചു അവൻ ഏഴു ദിവസം കാത്തിരുന്നു എങ്കിലും ശമൂവേൽ ഗില്ഗാലിൽ എത്തിയില്ല; ജനവും അവനെ വിട്ടു ചിതറിപ്പോയി.

നിന്റെ വാൾ സ്ത്രീകളെ മക്കളില്ലാത്തവരാക്കിയതുപോലെ നിന്റെ അമ്മയും സ്ത്രീകളുടെ ഇടയിൽ മക്കളില്ലാത്തവളാകും എന്നു ശമൂവേൽ പറഞ്ഞു, ഗില്ഗാലിൽവെച്ചു യഹോവയുടെ സന്നിധിയിൽ ആഗാഗിനെ തുണ്ടംതുണ്ടമായി വെട്ടിക്കളഞ്ഞു.
