Ecclesiastes 2:19
അവൻ ജ്ഞാനിയായിരിക്കുമോ ഭോഷനായിരിക്കുമോ? ആർക്കറിയാം? എന്തായാലും ഞാൻ സൂര്യന്നു കീഴെ പ്രയത്നിച്ചതും ജ്ഞാനം വിളങ്ങിച്ചതും ആയ സകലപ്രയത്നഫലത്തിന്മേലും അവൻ അധികാരം പ്രാപിക്കും. അതും മായ അത്രേ.

| or man | א֣וֹ | ʾô | oh |
| a fool? | סָכָ֔ל | sākāl | sa-HAHL |
| rule have he shall yet | וְיִשְׁלַט֙ | wĕyišlaṭ | veh-yeesh-LAHT |
| over all | בְּכָל | bĕkāl | beh-HAHL |
| labour my | עֲמָלִ֔י | ʿămālî | uh-ma-LEE |
| wherein I have laboured, | שֶֽׁעָמַ֥לְתִּי | šeʿāmaltî | sheh-ah-MAHL-tee |
| wise myself shewed have I wherein and | וְשֶׁחָכַ֖מְתִּי | wĕšeḥākamtî | veh-sheh-ha-HAHM-tee |
| under | תַּ֣חַת | taḥat | TA-haht |
| sun. the | הַשָּׁ֑מֶשׁ | haššāmeš | ha-SHA-mesh |
| This | גַּם | gam | ɡahm |
| is also | זֶ֖ה | ze | zeh |
| vanity. | הָֽבֶל׃ | hābel | HA-vel |
