ഒരു മനുഷ്യനും നിങ്ങളുടെ മുമ്പിൽ നിൽക്കയില്ല; നിങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നിങ്ങളോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതുപോലെ അവൻ നിങ്ങളെയുള്ള പേടിയും ഭീതിയും നിങ്ങൾ ചെല്ലുന്ന സകലദിക്കിലും വരുത്തും.

യിസ്രായേൽമക്കൾ ഇക്കരെ കടപ്പാൻ തക്കവണ്ണം യഹോവ അവരുടെ മുമ്പിൽ യോർദ്ദാനിലെ വെള്ളം വറ്റിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞു എന്നു യോർദ്ദാന്റെ പടിഞ്ഞാറെ ഭാഗത്തുള്ള അമോർയ്യരാജാക്കന്മാരൊക്കെയും സമുദ്രതീരത്തുള്ള കനാന്യരാജാക്കന്മാരൊക്കെയും കേട്ടപ്പോൾ അവരുടെ ഹൃദയം ഉരുകി; യിസ്രായേൽമക്കളുടെ നിമിത്തം അവരിൽ അശേഷം ചൈതന്യമില്ലാതെയായി.
