ಆಗ ಮೋವಾಬಿನ ಹಿರಿಯರೂ ಮಿದ್ಯಾನಿನ ಹಿರಿಯರೂ ಕಣಿ ಕೇಳುವದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ತಮ್ಮ ಕೈಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕಾಣಿಕೆ ಗಳನ್ನು ತಕ್ಕೊಂಡು ಹೋದರು; ಅವರು ಬಿಳಾಮನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬಂದು ಅವನಿಗೆ ಬಾಲಾಕನ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನು ಹೇಳಿದರು.

ಅವರು ಕಾಯಿನನ ಮಾರ್ಗ ಹಿಡಿದವರೂ ಪ್ರತೀಕಾರ ಹೊಂದುವದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಬಿಳಾಮನ ದೋಷವನ್ನು ಮಾಡುವದಕ್ಕೆ ದುರಾಶೆ ಯಿಂದ ಓಡುವವರೂ ಕೋರಹನಂತೆ ಎದುರು ಮಾತನಾಡಿ ನಾಶವಾಗುವವರೂ ಆಗಿರುವ ಅವರಿಗೆ ಅಯ್ಯೋ!

2 ಪೇತ್ರನು 2:15
ಇವರು ನೀಟಾದ ಮಾರ್ಗವನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಬೆಯೋರನ ಮಗನಾದ ಬಿಳಾಮನ ಮಾರ್ಗವನ್ನು ಹಿಡಿದು ತಪ್ಪಿಹೋಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಈ ಬಿಳಾಮನು ಅನೀತಿಯಿಂದ ದೊರಕುವ ಸಂಬಳವನ್ನು ಪ್ರೀತಿಸಿದನು.

ನಿಶ್ಚಯ ವಾಗಿ ಯಾಕೋಬನಿಗೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ ಶಕುನವಿಲ್ಲ; ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲನಿಗೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ ಯಾವ ಕಣಿ ಇಲ್ಲ; ತತ್ಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ದೇವರು ಏನು ಮಾಡಿದನೆಂದು ಯಾಕೋಬನ ವಿಷಯವಾಗಿಯೂ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ವಿಷಯವಾಗಿಯೂ ಹೇಳುವರು.
