ಆದರೆ ಕರ್ತನು ದೊಡ್ಡ ಗಾಳಿಯನ್ನು ಸಮುದ್ರದ ಮೇಲೆ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದನು; ಸಮುದ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ಮಹಾಬಿರುಗಾಳಿ ಉಂಟಾಗಿ ಹಡಗು ಒಡೆಯುವ ದಕ್ಕಿತ್ತು.

ಕರ್ತನು ಮಹಾಬಲವಾದ ಪಶ್ಚಿಮಗಾಳಿಯನ್ನು ಬೀಸಮಾಡಿದನು. ಅದು ಮಿಡತೆಗಳನ್ನು ಎತ್ತಿಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗಿ ಕೆಂಪುಸಮುದ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ಹಾಕಿತು. ಐಗುಪ್ತದ ಮೇರೆಗಳಲ್ಲೆಲ್ಲಾ ಒಂದು ಮಿಡತೆಯಾದರೂ ಉಳಿಯ ಲಿಲ್ಲ.

ಮೋಶೆಯು ತನ್ನ ಕೋಲನ್ನು ಐಗುಪ್ತದೇಶದ ಮೇಲೆ ಚಾಚಿದಾಗ ಕರ್ತನು ಹಗಲಿರುಳೂ ಮೂಡಣಗಾಳಿಯನ್ನು ಬರಮಾಡಿದನು. ಉದ ಯವಾದಾಗ ಆ ಮೂಡಣ ಗಾಳಿಯು ಮಿಡತೆಗಳನ್ನು ಅಟ್ಟಿಕೊಂಡು ಬಂದಿತು.
