ಯೋಸೇಫನಿಗೆ ಐಗುಪ್ತ ದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ಮಕ್ಕಳು ಹುಟ್ಟಿದರು: ಓನಿನ ಯಾಜಕನಾಗಿರುವ ಪೋಟೀಫೆರನ ಮಗಳಾದ ಆಸನತಳು ಮನಸ್ಸೆಯನ್ನೂ ಎಫ್ರಾಯಾಮ ನನ್ನೂ ಅವನಿಗೆ ಹೆತ್ತಳು.

ಫರೋಹನು ಯೋಸೇಫನಿಗೆ ಸಾಫ್ನತ್ಪನ್ನೇಹ ಎಂದು ಹೆಸರಿಟ್ಟನು. ತರುವಾಯ ಓನಿನ ಯಾಜಕನಾದ ಪೋಟೀಫೆರನ ಮಗಳಾದ ಆಸನತ್ ಎಂಬಾಕೆಯನ್ನು ಅವನಿಗೆ ಹೆಂಡತಿಯಾಗಿ ಕೊಟ್ಟನು. ಆಗ ಯೋಸೇಫನು ಐಗುಪ್ತದೇಶದಲ್ಲೆಲ್ಲಾ ಹೊರಟು ಸಂಚರಿಸಿದನು.

ಹೀಗೆ ಅವನು ಅವರನ್ನು ಆ ದಿನದಲ್ಲಿ ಆಶೀರ್ವ ದಿಸಿ--ನಿನ್ನಲ್ಲಿ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ ಆಶೀರ್ವದಿಸಲ್ಪಡು ವದು. ಎಫ್ರಾಯಾಮ್ ಮನಸ್ಸೆಯರ ಹಾಗೆ ದೇವರು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಮಾಡಲೆಂದು ಹೇಳುವ ಹೇಳಿಕೆಯಾಗುವದು ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿ ಎಫ್ರಾಯಾಮನನ್ನು ಮನಸ್ಸೆಯ ಮುಂದೆ ನಿಲ್ಲಿಸಿದನು.

ತರುವಾಯ ಯೋಸೇಫನು ತನ್ನ ಬಲಗಡೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲನ ಎಡಗೈಗೆ ಎದುರಾಗಿ ಎಫ್ರಾಯಾಮನನ್ನೂ ತನ್ನ ಎಡಗಡೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲನ ಬಲಗೈಗೆ ಎದುರಾಗಿ ಮನಸ್ಸೆಯನ್ನೂ ನಿಲ್ಲಿಸಿ ಅವರಿಬ್ಬರನ್ನು ತನ್ನ ತಂದೆಯ ಬಳಿಗೆ ತಂದನು.
ಆದಿಕಾಂಡ 48:4
ಆತನು ನನಗೆ--ಇಗೋ, ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿಪಡಿಸಿ ಹೆಚ್ಚಿಸಿ ಜನ ಸಮೂಹವನ್ನಾಗಿ ಮಾಡಿ ನಿನ್ನ ತರುವಾಯ ಹುಟ್ಟುವ ನಿನ್ನ ಸಂತತಿಗೆ ಈ ದೇಶವನ್ನು ಶಾಶ್ವತ ಸ್ವಾಸ್ಥ್ಯವಾಗಿ ಕೊಡುತ್ತೇನೆ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.
