Deuteronomy 2:9
ಆಗ ಕರ್ತನು ನನಗೆ--ಮೋವಾಬ್ಯರಿಗೆ ಉಪದ್ರಕೊಡಬೇಡ; ಅವರ ಸಂಗಡ ಜಗಳವಾಡಿ ಯುದ್ಧಮಾಡಬೇಡ; ನಾನು ಅವರ ದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ನಿನಗೆ ಸ್ವಾಸ್ತ್ಯವನ್ನು ಕೊಡುವದಿಲ್ಲ; ನಾನು ಆರ್‌ ಅನ್ನು ಲೋಟನ ಮಕ್ಕಳಿಗೆ ಸ್ವಾಸ್ತ್ಯವಾಗಿ ಕೊಟ್ಟೆನಲ್ಲವೇ ಅಂದನು.

ಆದದರಿಂದ ಮೋವಾಬ್ಯರು ಮಿದ್ಯಾನ್ಯರ ಹಿರಿಯರಿಗೆ ಹೇಳಿದ್ದೇನಂದರೆ--ಈಗ ಈ ಸಮೂಹವು ನಮ್ಮ ಸುತ್ತಲಿರುವದನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ಎತ್ತು ಅಡವಿಯ ಹುಲ್ಲನ್ನು ಮೇಯುವಂತೆ ಮೇಯುವದು. ಆ ಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಚಿಪ್ಪೋ ರನ ಮಗನಾದ ಬಾಲಾಕನು ಮೋವಾಬ್ಯರ ಅರಸ ನಾಗಿದ್ದನು.
