ಆದದರಿಂದ ಕರ್ತನು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ಸಂತತಿ ಯನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ಅಲಕ್ಷ್ಯಮಾಡಿಬಿಟ್ಟು ಅವರನ್ನು ಕುಂದಿಸಿ ಅವರನ್ನು ತನ್ನ ಸಮ್ಮುಖದಿಂದ ತಳ್ಳಿಬಿಡುವ ವರೆಗೆ ಅವರನ್ನು ಕೊಳ್ಳೆಗಾರರ ಕೈಯಲ್ಲಿ ಒಪ್ಪಿಸಿಕೊಟ್ಟನು.

ಆದದರಿಂದ ಕರ್ತನು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ಮೇಲೆ ಬಹುಕೋಪ ಗೊಂಡು ಅವರನ್ನು ತನ್ನ ಸಮ್ಮುಖದಿಂದ ತೆಗೆದುಹಾಕಿ ದನು. ಯೆಹೂದದ ಗೋತ್ರದ ಹೊರತಾಗಿ ಇನ್ಯಾರೂ ಉಳಿದದ್ದಿಲ್ಲ.

ಆತನು ಯಾರೊಬ್ಬಾಮನ ಪಾಪಗಳ ನಿಮಿತ್ತ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ಯರನ್ನು ಒಪ್ಪಿಸಿ ಬಿಡುವನು; ಅವನೇ ಪಾಪ ಮಾಡಿ ಪಾಪವನ್ನು ಮಾಡಲು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ಯರನ್ನು ಪ್ರೇರೇಪಿಸಿದನು ಅಂದನು.

ಹೀಗಿರುವದರಿಂದ ನಾನು ಸಮಾರ್ಯವನ್ನು ಹೊಲದ ದಿಬ್ಬೆಯಾಗಿಯೂ ದ್ರಾಕ್ಷೇ ಬಳ್ಳಿ ನೆಡುವ ಸ್ಥಳವಾಗಿಯೂ ಮಾಡುವೆನು; ಅದರ ಕಲ್ಲುಗಳನ್ನು ತಗ್ಗಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಸುರಿದುಬಿಟ್ಟು; ಅದರ ಅಸ್ತಿವಾರಗಳನ್ನು ಹೊರ ಗೆಡುವೆನು.

ಆಗ ಕರ್ತನು ಅವನಿಗೆ--ಅವನನ್ನು ಇಜ್ರೇಲ್‌ ಎಂಬ ಹೆಸರಿನಿಂದ ಕರೆ. ಇನ್ನೂ ಸ್ವಲ್ಪಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿಯೇ ನಾನು ಇಜ್ರೇಲಿನ ರಕ್ತವನ್ನು ಯೆಹೂವಿನ ಮನೆತನದವರ ಮೇಲೆ ಸೇಡು ತೀರಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವೆನು; ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ಮನೆತನದ ರಾಜ್ಯವು ನಿಂತುಹೋಗುವಂತೆ ಮಾಡು ವೆನು.

ಅವನು ಆ ಪೀಠಕ್ಕೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ ಕರ್ತನ ಮಾತಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಕೂಗಿ--ಪೀಠವೇ, ಪೀಠವೇ, ಇಗೋ, ದಾವೀದನ ಸಂತಾನದಲ್ಲಿ ಯೋಷೀಯನೆಂದು ಹೆಸರುಳ್ಳ ಒಬ್ಬ ಕುಮಾರನು ಹುಟ್ಟುವನು; ಅವನು ನಿನ್ನ ಮೇಲೆ ಧೂಪವನ್ನರ್ಪಿಸುವ ಉನ್ನತ ಸ್ಥಳಗಳ ಯಾಜಕರನ್ನು ಬಲಿಯಾಗಿ ಅರ್ಪಿಸುವನು; ಮನುಷ್ಯರ ಎಲುಬುಗಳು ನಿನ್ನ ಮೇಲೆ ಸುಡಲ್ಪಡುವವೆಂದು ಕರ್ತನು ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾನೆ ಅಂದನು.
