ನಿನ್ನಿಂದ ಮಕ್ಕಳೂ ಮೊಮ್ಮಕ್ಕಳೂ ಹುಟ್ಟಿದ ಮೇಲೆ ನೀವು ಬಹುಕಾಲ ದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ಇದ್ದು ತರುವಾಯ ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಕೆಡಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಯಾವದಾದರ ರೂಪವನ್ನು ಕೆತ್ತಿದ ವಿಗ್ರಹವನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡು ನಿನ್ನ ದೇವರಾದ ಕರ್ತನ ಸಮ್ಮುಖದಲ್ಲಿ ಕೆಟ್ಟದ್ದನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿ ಆತನಿಗೆ ಕೋಪವನ್ನು ಎಬ್ಬಿಸಿದರೆ

ತಮ್ಮ ಕುಮಾರರನ್ನೂ ಕುಮಾರ್ತೆಯರನ್ನೂ ಬೆಂಕಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ದಾಟಮಾಡಿ ಕಣಿಗಳನ್ನೂ ಶಕುನಗಳನ್ನೂ ಬಳಸಿ ಕರ್ತ ನಿಗೆ ಕೋಪ ಬರುವಂತೆ ಆತನ ಸಮ್ಮುಖದಲ್ಲಿ ಕೆಟ್ಟದ್ದನ್ನು ಮಾಡಲು ತಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಮಾರಿಬಿಟ್ಟರು.

ನಾನು ಸತ್ತ ಮೇಲೆ ನೀವು ಪೂರ್ಣವಾಗಿ ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ನೀವು ಕೆಡಿಸಿ ಕೊಂಡು ನಾನು ನಿಮಗೆ ಆಜ್ಞಾಪಿಸಿದ ಮಾರ್ಗದಿಂದ ತೊಲಗಿ ಹೋಗುವಿರೆಂದು ನಾನು ಬಲ್ಲೆನು; ನೀವು ಕರ್ತನ ಮುಂದೆ ಕೆಟ್ಟದ್ದನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಕ್ರಿಯೆಗಳಿಂದ ಆತನಿಗೆ ಕೋಪವನ್ನೆಬ್ಬಿಸುವ ಕಾರಣ ಕಡೇ ದಿವಸಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಮಗೆ ಕೇಡುಸಂಭವಿಸುವದು ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.

ಆಗ ಕರ್ತನು ಮೋಶೆಗೆ--ನೀನು ನಿನ್ನ ಪಿತೃಗಳ ಸಂಗಡ ಮಲಗುವಿ; ಈ ಜನರು ಎದ್ದು ತಾವು ಪ್ರವೇಶಿಸುವ ದೇಶದ ಅನ್ಯದೇವರುಗಳನ್ನು ಅನುಸರಿಸಿ ಜಾರತ್ವಮಾಡಿ ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟು ನಾನು ಅವರ ಸಂಗಡ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡ ಒಡಂಬಡಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ವಿಾರುವರು.

ಆಗ ಕರ್ತನು ಮೋಶೆಗೆ--ನೀನು ಇಳಿದು ಹೋಗು; ನೀನು ಐಗುಪ್ತ ದೇಶದೊಳಗಿಂದ ಬರ ಮಾಡಿದ ನಿನ್ನ ಜನರು ತಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಕೆಡಿಸಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
