ಹಾಗೆ ಕರ್ತನು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ಯರ ಮೇಲೆ ಕೋಪೋ ದ್ರೇಕಗೊಂಡದ್ದರಿಂದ ಆತನ ದೃಷ್ಟಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕೆಟ್ಟತನವನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿದ ಸಮಸ್ತ ಸಂತತಿಯು ನಾಶವಾಗುವ ವರೆಗೆ ಅವರನ್ನು ಅರಣ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ನಾಲ್ವತ್ತು ವರುಷ ಅಲೆದಾಡು ವಂತೆ ಮಾಡಿದನು.
