ಹೆರೋದನು ಸತ್ತ ಮೇಲೆ ಇಗೋ, ಐಗುಪ್ತದಲ್ಲಿ ಕರ್ತನ ದೂತನು ಯೋಸೇಫನಿಗೆ ಕನಸಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಕಾಣಿಸಿ ಕೊಂಡು--

அப்பொழுது அவர் பன்னிரண்டு நபர்களைத் தெரிந்துகொண்டு, அவர்கள் தம்மோடு இருக்கவும், பிரசங்கம்பண்ணுவதற்காகத் தாம் அவர்களை அனுப்பவும்,

அவர்களில் பன்னிரண்டு பேரை இயேசு தேர்ந்தெடுத்துக்கொண்டார். அவர்களை அப்போஸ்தலர் என்று அழைத்தார். அவர்கள் தன்னுடன் இருக்க வேண்டும் என்று இயேசு விரும்பினார். அவர்களைப் பல இடங்களுக்கு அனுப்பி பிரசங்கம் செய்யும்படி விரும்பினார்.
