Leviticus 21:14
ವಿಧವೆ ಯನ್ನಾಗಲಿ, ಬಿಡಲ್ಪಟ್ಟ ಸ್ತ್ರೀಯನ್ನಾಗಲಿ, ಅಪವಿತ್ರ ಳನ್ನಾಗಲಿ, ಇಲ್ಲವೆ ಸೂಳೆಯನ್ನಾಗಲಿ, ಇಂಥವರನ್ನು ಅವನು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳಬಾರದು. ಆದರೆ ತನ್ನ ಸ್ವಂತ ಜನರಲ್ಲಿ ಒಬ್ಬ ಕನ್ನಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ತನಗೆ ಹೆಂಡತಿಯನ್ನಾಗಿ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕು.

ಅವರು ಒಬ್ಬ ವಿಧವೆ ಯನ್ನಾಗಲಿ, ಹೊರಗೆ ಹಾಕಲ್ಪಟ್ಟವಳನ್ನಾಗಲಿ, ಹೆಂಡತಿ ಯನ್ನಾಗಲು ಸ್ವೀಕರಿಸಬಾರದು ಆದರೆ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ಮನೆತನದ ಸಂತಾನದವರಾದ ಕನ್ಯೆಯರನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದು ಕೊಳ್ಳಬಹುದು. ಅಥವಾ ಯಾಜಕನಿಂದ ವಿಧವೆಯಾಗಿ ರುವವಳನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳಬಹುದು.
