Jeremiah 26:8
ಯೆರೆವಿಾಯನು ತಾನು ಜನರೆಲ್ಲರಿಗೆ ಹೇಳಬೇಕೆಂದು ಕರ್ತನು ಆಜ್ಞಾಪಿಸಿ ದ್ದನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ಹೇಳಿ ತೀರಿಸಿದ ಮೇಲೆ ಯಾಜಕರೂ ಪ್ರವಾದಿಗಳೂ ಜನರೆಲ್ಲರೂ ಅವನನ್ನು ಹಿಡಿದು--ನೀನು ನಿಶ್ಚಯವಾಗಿ ಸಾಯಬೇಕು ಅಂದರು.

ಯೆರೆವಿಾಯನು ಈ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನು ಪ್ರವಾದಿಸಲಾಗಿ ಕರ್ತನ ಆಲಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಮುಖ್ಯ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಯಾಗಿದ್ದ ಯಾಜಕನಾದ ಇಮ್ಮೇರನ ಮಗನಾದ ಪಷ್ಹೂರನು ಕೇಳಿದನು.

ಕಾಲಾ ಳುಗಳ ಸಂಗಡ ಓಡುವಾಗ ನಿನಗೆ ಆಯಾಸವಾದರೆ ಕುದುರೆಗಳ ಸಂಗಡ ಹೇಗೆ ಹೋರಾಡುವಿ? ನೀನು ಭರವಸವಿಟ್ಟಿರುವ ಸಮಾಧಾನದ ದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ಅವರು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಆಯಾಸಪಡಿಸಿದರೆ ಯೊರ್ದನ್ ದಡವಿಾರು ವಾಗ ಏನು ಮಾಡುವಿ?

ಆದರೆ ನಾನು ವಧೆಗೆ ತಕ್ಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗುವ ಕುರಿಯಹಾಗೆ ಇಲ್ಲವೆ ಎತ್ತಿನ ಹಾಗೆ ಇದ್ದೆನು; ನನಗೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ ಕಲ್ಪನೆಗಳನ್ನು ಕಲ್ಪಿಸು ತ್ತಾರೆಂದೂ ಮರವನ್ನೂ ಅದರ ಫಲವನ್ನೂ ಕೆಡಿಸಿ ಅವನ ಹೆಸರು ಇನ್ನು ಜ್ಞಾಪಕಮಾಡಲ್ಪಡದ ಹಾಗೆ ಜೀವಿತರ ದೇಶದೊಳಗಿಂದ ಅವನನ್ನು ಕಡಿದು ಬಿಡೋಣ ಎಂದು ಅಂದುಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಾರೆಂದೂ ನನಗೆ ತಿಳಿಯಲಿಲ್ಲ.
ಯೆರೆಮಿಯ 2:30
ನಾನು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಮಕ್ಕಳನ್ನು ಹೊಡೆದದ್ದು ವ್ಯರ್ಥವಾಯಿತು. ಅವರು ಶಿಕ್ಷೆಯನ್ನು ತಕ್ಕೊಳ್ಳಲಿಲ್ಲ. ನಿಮ್ಮ ಸ್ವಂತ ಕತ್ತಿಯು ನಾಶಮಾಡುವ ಸಿಂಹದಂತೆ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಪ್ರವಾದಿಗಳನ್ನು ನುಂಗಿಬಿಟ್ಟಿವೆ.

ಆದರೆ ಕರ್ತನ ಕೋಪವು ತನ್ನ ಜನರಿಗೆ ವಿರೋಧ ವಾಗಿ ಏಳುವ ವರೆಗೂ ಅಂದರೆ ಪರಿಹಾರವಾಗದಷ್ಟೂ ಅವರು ದೇವರ ಸೇವಕರನ್ನು ಅಪಹಾಸ್ಯಮಾಡಿ ಆತನ ವಾಕ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ತಿರಸ್ಕರಿಸಿ ಆತನ ಪ್ರವಾದಿಗಳಿಗೆ ವಂಚನೆ ಮಾಡಿದರು.
