Isaiah 37:38
ತರುವಾಯ ಅವನು ತನ್ನ ದೇವರಾದ ನಿಸ್ರೋಕನ ಮನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಪೂಜಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾಗ ಅದ್ರಮ್ಮೆ ಲೆಕ್, ಸರೆಚೆರ್ ಎಂಬ ಅವನ ಮಕ್ಕಳು ಅವ ನನ್ನು ಕತ್ತಿಯಿಂದ ಹೊಡೆದು ಅರರಾಟ್ ದೇಶಕ್ಕೆ ತಪ್ಪಿಸಿ ಕೊಂಡು ಹೋದರು; ಅವನಿಗೆ ಬದಲಾಗಿ ಅವನ ಮಗನಾದ ಏಸರ್ಹದ್ದೋನನು ಆಳಿದನು.

ನೀನು ನಂಬುವ ದೇವರು, ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮು ಅಶ್ಶೂರದ ಅರಸನಿಗೆ ವಶವಾಗುವದಿಲ್ಲವೆಂದು ಹೇಳಿ ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಮೋಸಗೊಳಿಸಾನು;

ಕರ್ತನು ನಮ್ಮನ್ನು ತಪ್ಪಿಸುವನು ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿ ಹಿಜ್ಕೀಯನು ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಪ್ರೇರೇಪಿಸದಂತೆ ಎಚ್ಚರಿಕೆ ಯಾಗಿರ್ರಿ. ಯಾವ ಜನಾಂಗದ ದೇವರುಗಳಾದರೂ ತನ್ನ ದೇಶಗಳನ್ನು ಅಶ್ಶೂರದ ಅರಸನ ಕೈಯಿಂದ ಬಿಡಿಸಿದವೋ?

ಇಲ್ಲವೇ ಕರ್ತನು ನಿಶ್ಚಯವಾಗಿ ನಮ್ಮನ್ನು ತಪ್ಪಿಸುವನು; ಈ ಪಟ್ಟಣವು ಅಶ್ಶೂರದ ಅರಸನ ವಶವಾಗುವದಿಲ್ಲ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿ ನೀವು ಕರ್ತನಲ್ಲಿ ಭರವಸೆ ಇಡುವಂತೆ ಮಾಡಿದರೂ;

ಓ ಲೂಸಿಫರ್ ಉದಯದ ಮಗನೇ. ಆಕಾಶದಿಂದ ನೀನು ಹೇಗೆ ಬಿದ್ದೀ? ಜನಾಂಗಗಳನ್ನು ಬಲಹೀನ ಮಾಡಿದ ನೀನು ಭೂಮಿಗೆ ಹೇಗೆ ಕಡಿಯಲ್ಪಟ್ಟಿದ್ದೀ?

ಆಗ ಕರ್ತನು ತನ್ನ ದೂತನನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದನು; ಅವನು ಅಶ್ಶೂರಿನ ಅರಸನ ದಂಡಿನಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಸಮಸ್ತ ಪರಾ ಕ್ರಮಶಾಲಿಗಳನ್ನೂ ನಾಯಕರನ್ನೂ ಅಧಿಪತಿಗಳನ್ನೂ ನಿರ್ಮೂಲಮಾಡಿದನು. ಹೀಗೆ ಇವನು ಲಜ್ಜಾ ಮುಖದಿಂದ ತನ್ನ ದೇಶಕ್ಕೆ ತಿರುಗಿದನು. ಅವನು ತನ್ನ ದೇವರ ಮನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರವೇಶಿಸಿದಾಗ ಅವನ ಹೊಟ್ಟೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಹುಟ್ಟಿದವರು ಅವನನ್ನು ಕತ್ತಿಯಿಂದ ಕೊಂದುಹಾಕಿದರು.

ಮನುಷ್ಯರ ಕೈ ಕೆಲಸವಾದ ಭೂಮಿಯ ಜನಗಳ ದೇವರುಗಳಿಗೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ ಮಾತನಾಡಿದ ಹಾಗೆ ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿನ ದೇವರಿಗೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ ಮಾತನಾಡಿದರು.

ನನ್ನ ಪಿತೃಗಳು ನಿರ್ಮೂಲ ಮಾಡಿದ ಆ ಜನಾಂಗಗಳ ಸಮಸ್ತ ದೇವ ರುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ನನ್ನ ಕೈಯೊಳಗಿಂದ ತನ್ನ ಜನರನ್ನು ಬಿಡಿಸಲು ಸಾಮರ್ಥ್ಯವುಳ್ಳದ್ದು ಯಾವದು? ಹಾಗಾದರೆ ನಿಮ್ಮ ದೇವರು ನನ್ನ ಕೈಯೊಳಗಿಂದ ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಹೇಗೆ ಬಿಡಿಸ ಬಹುದು?

ಅಶ್ಶೂರಿನ ಅರಸನಾದ ಸನ್ಹೇರೀಬನು ಹಿಂತಿರುಗಿಹೋಗಿ ನಿನೆವೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ವಾಸ ವಾಗಿದ್ದನು.
