ಅರಸನಾದ ಬೆಲ್ಯಚ್ಚರನು ತನ್ನ ಪ್ರಭುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಸಾವಿರ ಮಂದಿಗೆ ದೊಡ್ಡ ಔತಣವನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿಸಿ, ಆ ಸಾವಿರ ಮಂದಿಯ ಮುಂದೆ ಅವನು ದ್ರಾಕ್ಷಾರಸವನ್ನು ಕುಡಿದನು.
ಯೆಶಾಯ 21:2
ಘೋರದರ್ಶನವು ನನಗೆ ತಿಳಿಯಬಂದಿದೆ. ಬಾಧ ಕನು ಬಾಧಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾನೆ. ಸೂರೆಗಾರನು ಸೂರೆಮಾಡು ತ್ತಿದ್ದಾನೆ. ಏಲಾಮೇ, ಏಳು ಮೇದ್ಯವೇ ಮುತ್ತಿಗೆ ಹಾಕು, ಅದರ ನಿಟ್ಟುಸಿರನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ನಿಲ್ಲಿಸಿಬಿಟ್ಟಿದ್ದೇನೆ.

ನೀನು ಕಂಡ ಆ ಎರಡು ಕೊಂಬುಗಳುಳ್ಳ ಟಗರು ಏನಂದರೆ ಮೇದ್ಯಯದ ಮತ್ತು ಪಾರಸಿಯರ ಅರಸರು ಗಳು.

ಆಗ ಪ್ರಧಾನರೂ ದೇಶಾಧಿಪತಿಯೂ ಅರಸನ ಬಳಿ ಕೂಡಿಬಂದು ಹೀಗೆಂದರು--ಅರಸನಾದ ದಾರ್ಯಾವೆಷನೇ, ನಿರಂತರವಾಗಿ ಬಾಳು.

ಪೆರೇಸ್ ಅಂದರೆ ನಿನ್ನ ರಾಜ್ಯವು ವಿಭಿನ್ನವಾಗಿ ಮೇದ್ಯಯರಿಗೂ ಪಾರಸೀಯರಿಗೂ ಕೊಡಲ್ಪಟ್ಟಿದೆ ಎಂಬದಾಗಿ ಅರಿಕೆಮಾಡಿದನು.

ಪಾರಸಿಯ ಅರಸನಾದ ಕೋರೆಷನು ಹೀಗೆ ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾನೆ--ಪರಲೋಕದ ದೇವರಾಗಿರುವ ಕರ್ತನು ಭೂಮಿಯ ರಾಜ್ಯಗಳನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ನನಗೆ ಕೊಟ್ಟಿದ್ದಾನೆ; ಆತನು ಯೆಹೂದ ದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿನಲ್ಲಿ ತನಗೆ ಮನೆಯನ್ನು ಕಟ್ಟಿಸಲು ನನಗೆ ಆಜ್ಞಾಪಿಸಿದ್ದಾನೆ.
