Acts 26:21
ಯಾಕಂ ದರೆ ಈ ಕಾರಣಗಳಿಗಾಗಿ ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯರು ದೇವಾಲಯ ದಲ್ಲಿ ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಹಿಡಿದು ಕೊಲ್ಲುವದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಪ್ರಯತ್ನಿಸಿದರು.

ಆಗ ಪಟ್ಟಣವೆಲ್ಲಾ ಕದಲಿಹೋಯಿತು. ಜನರು ಒಟ್ಟಾಗಿ ಓಡಿಬಂದು ಪೌಲನನ್ನು ಹಿಡಿದು ದೇವಾಲಯದ ಹೊರಗೆ ಎಳೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಬಂದ ಕೂಡಲೆ ಬಾಗಿಲುಗಳು ಮುಚ್ಚಲ್ಪಟ್ಟವು.

ಈ ಮಾತಿನತನಕ ಅವನು ಹೇಳಿದ್ದನ್ನು ಅವರು ಕೇಳಿ ತಮ್ಮ ಧ್ವನಿಗಳನ್ನೆತ್ತಿ--ಇಂಥವನನ್ನು ಭೂಮಿ ಯಿಂದ ತೆಗೆದುಹಾಕಿರಿ; ಇವನು ಜೀವಿಸುವದು ಯುಕ್ತವಲ್ಲ ಎಂದು ಕೂಗಿದರು.

ಬೆಳಗಾದ ಮೇಲೆ ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯರಲ್ಲಿ ಕೆಲವರು ಒಗ್ಗಟ್ಟಾಗಿ ಕೂಡಿ ತಾವು ಪೌಲನನ್ನು ಕೊಲ್ಲುವ ತನಕ ಅನ್ನಪಾನಗಳನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳುವದಿಲ್ಲವೆಂದು ಹೇಳಿ ಶಪಥಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡರು.

ಅವನನ್ನು ಕೊಲ್ಲುವದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ದಾರಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಹೊಂಚು ಹಾಕುತ್ತಾ ಅವನನ್ನು ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿನಿಂದ ಕರೆಯಿಸ ಬೇಕೆಂದು ಅವನಿಗೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ ಬೇಡಿಕೊಂಡರು.
