Exodus 7:12
ಅವರು ತಮ್ಮತಮ್ಮ ಕೋಲುಗಳನ್ನು ಬಿಸಾಡಿದಾಗ ಅವು ಸರ್ಪಗಳಾದವು. ಆದರೆ ಆರೋನನ ಕೋಲು ಅವರ ಕೋಲುಗಳನ್ನು ನುಂಗಿಬಿಟ್ಟಿತು.

ಆದರೆ ಇದಕ್ಕಿಂತ ಮುಂಚೆ ಸೀಮೋನ ನೆಂಬವನೊಬ್ಬನು ಆ ಪಟ್ಟಣದಲ್ಲಿ ತಾನು ಏನೋ ಒಬ್ಬ ದೊಡ್ಡ ಮನುಷ್ಯನೆಂದು ಹೇಳಿಕೊಂಡು ಮಂತ್ರ ತಂತ್ರಗಳನ್ನು ನಡಿಸಿ ಸಮಾರ್ಯದ ಜನರಲ್ಲಿ ಬೆರ ಗನ್ನು ಹುಟ್ಟಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದನು.

ಆದರೆ ಆ ಮಂತ್ರವಾದಿಯಾದ ಎಲುಮನು ಅವರಿಗೆ ಎದುರು ನಿಂತು ಅಧಿಪತಿಯನ್ನು ನಂಬಿಕೆಯಿಂದ ತಿರುಗಿಸು ವದಕ್ಕೆ ಪ್ರಯತ್ನಿಸಿದನು. (ಎಲುಮನೆಂಬ ಹೆಸರಿಗೆ ಮಂತ್ರವಾದಿ ಎಂಬದು ಅರ್ಥ).

ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ಮಾಟ ಮಂತ್ರಗಳನ್ನು ನಡಿಸಿದ ವರಲ್ಲಿ ಅನೇಕರು ಸಹ ಬಂದು ತಮ್ಮ ಪುಸ್ತಕಗಳನ್ನು ತಂದು ಕೂಡಿಸಿ ಎಲ್ಲರ ಮುಂದೆ ಸುಟ್ಟುಬಿಟ್ಟರು. ಅವು ಗಳ ಕ್ರಯವನ್ನು ಲೆಕ್ಕಮಾಡಿ ಐವತ್ತು ಸಾವಿರ ಬೆಳ್ಳಿ ನಾಣ್ಯ ಎಂದು ತಿಳಿದು ಕೊಂಡರು.
