Exodus 22:4
ಕಳ್ಳತನ ಮಾಡಿದ ಎತ್ತಾಗಲಿ ಕತ್ತೆಯಾಗಲಿ ಕುರಿಯಾಗಲಿ ಕದ್ದವನ ಬಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಜೀವವುಳ್ಳದ್ದಾಗಿ ನಿಜವಾಗಿ ಸಿಕ್ಕಿದರೆ ಅವನು ಎರಡರಷ್ಟು ತಿರಿಗಿ ಕೊಡಬೇಕು.

ಒಬ್ಬನು ಎತ್ತನ್ನಾಗಲಿ ಕುರಿಯನ್ನಾಗಲಿ ಕದ್ದು ಕೊಯ್ದರೆ ಇಲ್ಲವೆ ಅದನ್ನು ಮಾರಿದರೆ ಅವನು ಒಂದು ಎತ್ತಿಗೆ ಬದಲಾಗಿ ಐದು ಎತ್ತುಗಳನ್ನೂ ಒಂದು ಕುರಿಗೆ ನಾಲ್ಕು ಕುರಿಗಳನ್ನೂ ಕೊಡಬೇಕು.

ಒಬ್ಬನು ತನ್ನ ನೆರೆಯವನಿಗೆ ತನ್ನ ಹಣವನ್ನಾಗಲಿ ಸಾಮಾನುಗಳನ್ನಾಗಲಿ ಇಟ್ಟುಕೊಳ್ಳುವದಕ್ಕೆ ಕೊಟ್ಟಾಗ ಅದು ಅವನ ಮನೆಯಿಂದ ಕಳ್ಳತನವಾಗಿ ಆ ಕಳ್ಳನು ಸಿಕ್ಕಿದರೆ ಅವನು ಎರಡರಷ್ಟು ಕೊಡಬೇಕು.

ಎತ್ತು ಕತ್ತೆ ಕುರೀ ವಸ್ತ್ರಗಳ ವಿಷಯವಾದ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಅಪರಾಧಗಳಿಗೋಸ್ಕರ ಇಲ್ಲವೆ ಕಳೆದು ಹೋದ ಯಾವದೇ ತರದ ವಸ್ತುಗಳ ವಿಷಯ ದಲ್ಲಿ ಒಬ್ಬನು ಇನ್ನೊಬ್ಬನ ಬಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಅದನ್ನು ಕಂಡು ಇದು ತನ್ನದೆಂದು ಹೇಳಿದ ಪಕ್ಷಕ್ಕೆ ಆ ಇಬ್ಬರ ವ್ಯಾಜ್ಯವು ನ್ಯಾಯಾಧಿಪತಿಗಳ ಮುಂದೆ ಬರಬೇಕು. ನ್ಯಾಯಾಧಿ ಪತಿಗಳು ಯಾರನ್ನು ಅಪರಾಧಿಯೆಂದು ನಿರ್ಣಯಿಸು ವರೋ ಅವನು ಎರಡರಷ್ಟು ತನ್ನ ನೆರೆಯವನಿಗೆ ಕೊಡಬೇಕು.

ನಿಮಗೆ ಅವಳು ಮಾಡಿದ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ನೀವು ಅವಳಿಗೆ ಪ್ರತೀಕಾರ ಮಾಡಿರಿ; ಅವಳ ಕೃತ್ಯಗಳಿಗೆ ಸರಿಯಾಗಿ ಅವಳಿಗೆ ಎರಡರಷ್ಟು ಕೊಡಿರಿ. ಅವಳು ತುಂಬಿಸಿದ ಪಾತ್ರೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಅವಳಿಗೆ ಎರಡರಷ್ಟು ತುಂಬಿಸಿರಿ.
