ಅರಸನಾದ ಅಹಷ್ವೇ ರೋಷನ ಸಮ್ಮುಖದಲ್ಲಿ ಸೇವಿಸುವ ಮೆಹೂಮಾನನು ಬಿಜೆತಾನು ಹರ್ಬೋನಾನು ಬಿಗೆತಾನು ಅಬಗೆತಾನು ಜೇತರನು ಕರ್ಕಸನು ಎಂಬ ಏಳು ಮಂದಿ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿ ಗಳಿಗೆ ಹೇಳಿದನು.

ಈ ಮನುಷ್ಯನ ಹೆಸರು ನಾಬಾಲನು; ಅವನ ಹೆಂಡತಿಯ ಹೆಸರು ಅಬೀಗೈಲ್. ಆ ಸ್ತ್ರೀಯು ಮಹಾ ಬುದ್ಧಿವಂತೆಯೂ ಸೌಂದರ್ಯವತಿಯೂ ಆಗಿದ್ದಳು. ಆದರೆ ಆ ಮನುಷ್ಯನು--ಕಠಿಣ ಸ್ವಭಾವದವನಾಗಿಯೂ ತನ್ನ ಕ್ರಿಯೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಕೆಟ್ಟವನಾಗಿಯೂ ಇದ್ದನು; ಅವನು ಕಾಲೇಬನ ವಂಶಸ್ಥನು.

ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ಯರಲ್ಲಿ ಬಹಳ ಹೊಗಳಲ್ಪ ಡತಕ್ಕ ಅಬ್ಷಾಲೋಮನಿಗೆ ಸಮಾನನಾದ ಸೌಂದರ್ಯ ವುಳ್ಳವನು ಒಬ್ಬನೂ ಇರಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಅವನ ಅಂಗಾಲು ಮೊದಲ್ಗೊಂಡು ನಡುನೆತ್ತಿಯ ವರೆಗೂ ಅವನಲ್ಲಿ ಒಂದು ಕಳಂಕವಾದರೂ ಇಲ್ಲದೆ ಇತ್ತು.
ಎಸ್ತೇರಳು 2:17
ಅರಸನು ಸಕಲ ಸ್ತ್ರೀಯರಿಗಿಂತ ಎಸ್ತೇರಳನ್ನು ಪ್ರೀತಿ ಮಾಡಿದನು. ಅವಳಿಗೆ ಅವನ ಸಮ್ಮುಖದಲ್ಲಿ ಸಮಸ್ತ ಕನ್ಯಾಸ್ತ್ರೀಯರಿಗಿಂತ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ದಯವೂ ಕೃಪೆಯೂ ದೊರಕಿತು. ಆದದರಿಂದ ಅವನು ರಾಜಕಿರೀಟವನ್ನು ಅವಳ ತಲೆಯ ಮೇಲೆ ಇರಿಸಿ ಅವಳನ್ನು ವಷ್ಟಿಗೆ ಬದಲಾಗಿ ರಾಣಿಯಾಗಿ ಮಾಡಿದನು.
