Deuteronomy 31:23
ಆತನು ನೂನನ ಮಗನಾದ ಯೆಹೋಶುವನಿಗೆ ಆಜ್ಞೆಕೊಟ್ಟು--ಬಲವಾಗಿರು; ಧೈರ್ಯವಾಗಿರು; ನಾನು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ ಮಕ್ಕಳಿಗೆ ಪ್ರಮಾಣಮಾಡಿದ ದೇಶಕ್ಕೆ ನೀನು ತರುವಿ; ನಾನು ನಿನ್ನ ಸಂಗಡ ಇರುವೆನು ಅಂದನು.

ಧರ್ಮೋಪದೇಶಕಾಂಡ 31:14
ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ಕರ್ತನು ಮೋಶೆಗೆ--ಇಗೋ, ನೀನು ಸಾಯುವ ದಿನಗಳು ಸವಿಾಪವಾದವು. ಯೆಹೋಶುವ ನನ್ನು ಕರೆದು ನೀವು ಸಭೆಯ ಗುಡಾರದಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಂತು ಕೊಳ್ಳಿರಿ; ಆಗ ಅವನಿಗೆ ಆಜ್ಞೆ ಕೊಡುವೆನು ಅಂದನು. ಈ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ಮೋಶೆಯೂ ಯೆಹೋಶುವನೂ ಹೋಗಿ ಸಭೆಯ ಗುಡಾರದಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಂತುಕೊಂಡರು.

ಆದರೆ ಯೆಹೋಶು ವನಿಗೆ ಆಜ್ಞಾಪಿಸಿ ಅವನಿಗೆ ದೃಢಮಾಡಿ ಬಲಪಡಿಸು; ಅವನು ಈ ಜನರ ಮುಂದೆ ದಾಟಿಹೋಗಿ ನೀನು ನೋಡುವ ದೇಶವನ್ನು ಅವರಿಗೆ ಸ್ವಾಸ್ತ್ಯ ವಾಗಿ ಹೊಂದುವಂತೆ ಮಾಡುವನು ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.

ನಿನ್ನ ದೇವರಾದ ಕರ್ತನು ತಾನೇ ನಿನ್ನ ಮುಂದೆ ಹೋಗುವನು. ಆತನು ಆ ಜನಾಂಗಗಳನ್ನು ನಿನ್ನ ಮುಂದೆ ನಾಶಮಾಡುವನು; ನೀನು ಅವುಗಳನ್ನು ಸ್ವಾಧೀನಪಡಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವಿ; ಕರ್ತನು ಹೇಳಿದ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ಯೆಹೋಶುವನು ನಿನ್ನ ಮುಂದೆ ಹೋಗುವನು.
ಯೆಹೋಶುವ 1:5
ಆದರೆ ನೀನು ಜೀವಿಸುವ ದಿವಸಗಳಲ್ಲೆಲ್ಲಾ ಯಾವನೂ ನಿನ್ನ ಮುಂದೆ ನಿಲ್ಲಲಾರನು. ನಾನು ಮೋಶೆಯ ಸಂಗಡ ಇದ್ದ ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ನಿನ್ನ ಸಂಗಡ ಇರುವೆನು. ನಾನು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಕೈಬಿಡುವುದಿಲ್ಲ, ಇಲ್ಲವೆ ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ತೊರೆಯುವದಿಲ್ಲ.

ತರುವಾಯ ಬಂದ ನಮ್ಮ ಪಿತೃಗಳು ಸಹ ತಮ್ಮ ಮುಂದೆ ದೇವರು ಹೊರಡಿಸಿದ ಅನ್ಯಜನಗಳ ಸ್ವಾಸ್ತ್ಯವನ್ನು ಸ್ವಾಧೀನ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡಾಗ ಯೆಹೋಶುವನ ಕೂಡ ಆ ಗುಡಾರವನ್ನು ತಂದರು. ಅದು ದಾವೀದನ ಕಾಲದ ವರೆಗೂ ಅಲ್ಲೇ ಇತ್ತು.
