ತಂದೆಯಾದ ದೇವರಿಂದಲೂ ಆ ತಂದೆಯ ಮಗನಾಗಿರುವ ಕರ್ತನಾದ ಯೇಸು ಕ್ರಿಸ್ತನಿಂದಲೂ ಕೃಪೆಯು ಕರುಣೆಯು ಮತ್ತು ಶಾಂತಿಯು ಸತ್ಯ ದಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಪ್ರೀತಿಯಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ನಿಮ್ಮೊಂದಿಗಿರಲಿ.

ನಂಬಿಕೆಯ ವಿಷಯದಲ್ಲಿ ನನ್ನ ಸ್ವಂತಮಗನಾಗಿರುವ ತಿಮೊಥೆಯನಿಗೆ ನಮ್ಮ ತಂದೆಯಾದ ದೇವರಿಂದಲೂ ನಮ್ಮ ಕರ್ತನಾದ ಯೇಸು ಕ್ರಿಸ್ತನಿಂದಲೂ ನಿನಗೆ ಕೃಪೆಯೂ ಕರುಣೆಯೂ ಶಾಂತಿಯೂ ಆಗಲಿ.

ಸೈನ್ಯಗಳ ಕರ್ತನು ಹೀಗೆ ಹೇಳು ತ್ತಾನೆ--ನಾಲ್ಕನೇ ತಿಂಗಳಿನ ಉಪವಾಸವು, ಐದನೆ ಯದು, ಏಳನೆಯದು, ಹತ್ತನೆಯದು, ಯೆಹೂದದ ಮನೆತನದವರಿಗೆ ಸಂತೋಷವೂ ಸಂಭ್ರಮವೂ ಆನಂದವಾದ ಹಬ್ಬಗಳೂ ಆಗುವವು; ಆದರೆ ಸತ್ಯ ವನ್ನೂ ಸಮಾಧಾನವನ್ನೂ ಪ್ರೀತಿಮಾಡಿರಿ.

ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ಯೇಸು ಕ್ರಿಸ್ತನಲ್ಲಿರುವವರಿಗೆ ಸುನ್ನತಿ ಯಾದರೂ ಪ್ರಯೋಜನವಿಲ್ಲ, ಆಗದಿದ್ದರೂ ಪ್ರಯೋ ಜನವಿಲ್ಲ. ಪ್ರೀತಿಯಿಂದ ಕೆಲಸನಡಿಸುವ ನಂಬಿಕೆ ಯಿಂದಲೇ ಪ್ರಯೋಜನವಾಗುತ್ತದೆ.

ನಮ್ಮ ಕರ್ತನ ಕೃಪೆಯು ಕ್ರಿಸ್ತ ಯೇಸುವಿನಲ್ಲಿರುವ ನಂಬಿಕೆ ಮತ್ತು ಪ್ರೀತಿಯೊಂದಿಗೆ ಅತ್ಯಧಿಕವಾಯಿತು.

ಆಯಲ್ಪಟ್ಟವಳಾದ ಅಮ್ಮನವರಿಗೂ ಆಕೆಯ ಮಕ್ಕಳಿಗೂ ಹಿರಿಯನಾದ--ಸತ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಪ್ರೀತಿಸುತ್ತೇನೆ; ನಾನು ಮಾತ್ರವಲ್ಲದೆ ಸತ್ಯವನ್ನು ತಿಳಿದಿರುವವರೆಲ್ಲರೂ ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಪ್ರೀತಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ.
