ಅರಸನು ಸೈನ್ಯಾಧಿಪತಿಯಾದ ಯೋವಾಬನಿಗೆ--ನಾನು ಜನರ ಲೆಕ್ಕವನ್ನು ತಿಳಿಯುವ ಹಾಗೆ ನೀನು ದಾನ್ನಿಂದ ಬೇರ್ಷೆಬದ ವರೆಗೂ ಇರುವ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಗೋತ್ರಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಹೋಗಿ, ಜನರನ್ನು ಲೆಕ್ಕಿಸು, ಅಂದನು.
