ಆಗ ಸಭೆಯ ಮಧ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಆಸಾಫನ ಮಕ್ಕಳಲ್ಲಿ ಒಬ್ಬನಾದಂಥ, ಲೇವಿಯನಾದಂಥ, ಮತ್ತನ್ಯನ ಮಗ ನಾದ ಯೆಗೀಯೇಲನ ಮಗನಾದ ಬೆನಾಯನ ಮಗ ನಾದ ಜೆಕರೀಯನ ಮಗನಾದ ಯಹಜೀಯೇಲನ ಮೇಲೆ ಕರ್ತನ ಆತ್ಮನು ಬಂದನು.

ಆಗ ದೇವರ ಆತ್ಮನು ಯಾಜಕನಾಗಿ ರುವ ಯೆಹೋಯಾದನ ಮಗನಾದ ಜೆಕರ್ಯನ ಮೇಲೆ ಬಂದನು. ಅವನು ಜನರೊಳಗೆ ಎತ್ತರವಾದ ಸ್ಥಳದಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಂತು ಅವರಿಗೆ--ನೀವು ವೃದ್ಧಿಹೊಂದ ಕೂಡದ ಹಾಗೆ ಕರ್ತನ ಆಜ್ಞೆಗಳನ್ನು ವಿಾರುವದೇನು? ನೀವು ಕರ್ತನನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟದ್ದರಿಂದ ಆತನು ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟಿದ್ದಾನೆಂದು ಕರ್ತನು ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾನೆ ಅಂದನು.

ಕರ್ತನು ಮೇಘದೊಳಗೆ ಇಳಿದು ಬಂದು ಅವನ ಸಂಗಡ ಮಾತನಾಡಿ ಅವನ ಮೇಲಿರುವ ಆತ್ಮದಲ್ಲಿ ಪಾಲನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದು ಹಿರಿಯರಾದ ಎಪ್ಪತ್ತು ಮಂದಿಯ ಮೇಲೆ ಇಟ್ಟನು. ಆತ್ಮವು ಅವರ ಮೇಲೆ ನೆಲೆಯಾಗಿ ದ್ದಾಗ ಅವರು ಪ್ರವಾದಿಸಿದರು. ಅದನ್ನು ನಿಲ್ಲಿಸಲಿಲ್ಲ.

ಬಿಳಾಮನು ತನ್ನ ಕಣ್ಣುಗಳನ್ನೆತ್ತಿ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲು ತನ್ನ ಕುಟುಂಬಗಳ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ತನ್ನ ಡೇರೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ವಾಸವಾಗಿ ರುವದನ್ನು ನೋಡಿದಾಗ ದೇವರ ಆತ್ಮನು ಅವನ ಮೇಲೆ ಬಂದನು.

ಕೊರ್ನೇಲ್ಯನೇ, ನಿನ್ನ ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥನೆಯು ಕೇಳಬಂತು. ನಿನ್ನ ದಾನಗಳು ದೇವರ ಸನ್ನಿಧಾನದಲ್ಲಿ ನೆನಪಿಗೆ ಬಂದವು.
