ಆದದರಿಂದ ಕರ್ತನು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ಯರ ಮೇಲೆ ಕೋಪಗೊಂಡು ಅವರನ್ನು ಮೆಸೊಪೋತಾಮ್ಯದ ಅರಸನಾದ ಕೂಷನ್‌ ರಿಷಾತಯಿಮ್‌ ಕೈಗೆ ಮಾರಿಬಿಟ್ಟನು. ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್‌ ಮಕ್ಕಳು ಕೂಷನ್‌ರಿಷಾತಯಿಮ್‌ನ್ನು ಎಂಟು ವರುಷ ಸೇವಿಸಿದರು.
