ಇವರನ್ನು ಕರ್ತನು ಮೋಶೆಯ ಮುಖಾಂತರವಾಗಿ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ಯರ ತಂದೆಗಳಿಗೆ ಆಜ್ಞಾ ಪಿಸಿದ ಆಜ್ಞೆಗಳನ್ನು ಅವರು ಕೇಳುವರೋ ಇಲ್ಲವೋ ಎಂದು ಇವರಿಂದ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ಯರನ್ನು ಪರೀಕ್ಷಿಸುವ ದಕ್ಕೆ ಉಳಿಸಿಬಿಟ್ಟನು.
